The Best and Worst Reviewed Games of 2013 - IGN

The highest highs and lowest lows.

2013 brought us some of the absolute best games from this console generation. But unfortunately not every game can be an award winner. As always, plenty of titles missed their mark - some quite severely. But which games earned the absolute lowest scores from IGN's reviewers? Read on to find out. Or skip straight to Page 2 to see IGN's highest-scoring games of the year!

The story is too old to be commented.

IGN didn't review Ride to Hell for some reason, so this list is already losing some credibility.

No surprise that the best reviewed part is dominated by Nintendo.

The only thing that's kinda weird in my opinion is that they seem to support the 3DS with much more games than the Wii-U. Nintendo never had problems with the quality of their first party lineup. It would be great If they can keep up the quality and increase the percentage of Wii-U titles compared to 3DS.

SpiralTear1587d ago

I agree. It's kind of weird that the 3DS, a system that has proven itself already, is still getting a huge amount of fantastic games. I really love the 3DS support, but I would be more impressed if more games of this caliber were pushed for Wii U a bit more.

2014 will hopefully be the year for that.

And one of the two games to get a 10/10, AKA a masterpiece, was a Sony game =).

_QQ_1587d ago

Yup they all Deserve a spot on the list, expect IGN gave DOTA 2 a 9.5 and it wasn't included ;(

Troll mode engaged:

Yet the two highest weren't by Nintendo!

Troll mode disengaged.

How am i Trolling? Don't be so insecure.Sony and Nintendo are both great and every game deserves to be on the list. If i commented TLOU only 10/10 exclusive i bet you wouldn't call me troll...i'm simply praising a company that i like.

IGN gives Nintendo a free pass.

They complained about COD ghosts and said it should retire because there have been too many in the sieres. then mario comes along and nothing happens they give it 10/10..

Because you're wrong. Mario 3D World shakes things up in many ways when compared to the Galaxy games, amd , most importantly, it's a ridiculously polished game that provides a insane amount of fun, so people don't get tired of them.

Also, Nintendo usually doesn't release their games on a yearly basis, unlike Call of Duty. That's also one of the reasons people get tired already with COD, because of franchise fatigue, something Activision specializes in (see Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero).

Basically, you are comparing apples to elephants here.

You weren't trolling, I was.

6 of the 11 best games reviewed on IGN were Nintendo games. After all these years Nintendo are still a top tier video game developer.

JohnnyTower1587d ago

Now of they could get their PR back in tune they would be in fine form.

Beastforlifenoob1587d ago

Intresting... If its sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good then how come the WII U is selling worse then the gamecube by a mile? I mean it is truly great is'nt it

deafdani1587d ago

Sales don't necessarily reflect on a product's quality. Take off your hater glasses.

Whoops you're right didn't even realize how far back it was. Then I guess my Runner-up goes to Gone Home, short game but it did have an amazing sense of exploration.
