A Parent's Guide to Holiday Console Shopping

8CN: Okay, kids, this one is for the parents out there. Specifically, the parents who have no idea what they're doing when it comes to video games, but still want to make sure they get the right console this holiday season. If that sounds like you, read on as I guide you through the confusing world of making sure you get your kids something that doesn’t suck. (3DS, Culture, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Good guide :-) I think for a young child I'd buy ps3 for them too, just seems they would get the most out of that system right now, still getting most next gen dub down versions but with free online and a massive library of games I'm sure someone young would be busy with for years.

I met a kid yesterday who said he's getting a ps4 (note not wishing or hoping) for Christmas lol kid could hardly speak properly yet lol man I worry about the next generation of humans.

For me it would be the WiiU for kids as it has a lot more for them then any next gen console and can pickup cheep wii games too and most adult 3rd party game like COD, AC ect but PS3 is also up there too.

As for your bottom bit about a kid your right. I have a bother who is 16 (im 29) and all he keeps saying is when I get my gaming pc for xmas im going to do x with it.

I keep saying to him you don't always get what you want for xmas and he said I do.

Xmas is not what is was when I was younger its all me me me now rather than family time to exchange gifts but this is the world we live in now. Look at how mad and loud people are when playing consoles online now. The world is all about me 1st and everyone else last sad but that's whats happened everyone has to have the best thing or tell you yours is not as good as there's. Just look at some comments on this site to show that.
