Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that the new Super Smash Bros game will not be released during Spring 2014, as previously hinted by a Nintendo Germany rep.
smh. another looooong year for nintendo fans. this should have been a pre black friday release this year. that would have sold some systems.
Am I surprised? No. The only game I was interested on the troubled Ninty console and who knows when it's coming. This could be a play on words and it can come SOONER.....lol. Thank you Nintendo for making my decision and not buying a Wii U for nothing.
I knew it wasn't going to be release in spring is too close to MK, it will most likely release in the fall before or after Bayonetta.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to play this for my 3ds since it was announced
Sigh ... guess Project M will have to do.
Seems like Nintendo is spacing their games 3 months apart. Mario in November. Donkey Kong purposely delayed until February even though it is complete. Sorry Nintendo. I don't buy your excuse that "more time was needed to finish the title. Mario Kart in May. Then Smash Bros. in August. A major release in November. Maybe Zelda? Who knows. Yoshi's Yarn somewhere in between from March to November.
Considering the lack of third party games ... Nintendo themselves needs to release more games in a more timely fashion.
You forget Bayonetta 2 and Monolith Soft's X. Maybe one of these could come out in November. Although I hope they release X sooner. That's my most anticipated game of 2014.
Maybe Sakurai still have health problems, so developement can't go smoothly. Take your time.
I don't think you will ever see this game released. The term vaporware comes to mind.
You obviously don't know what vaporware means, kid.
Lol at you. We've already seen plenty of Smash Bros so far, with new stuff being shown every day. Yes, it will come out, and yes, it will be a long and painful wait. The exact same thing happened with Smash Bros Brawl, which was supposed to come out at Wii's launch, and was out a year and a half late. And the same thing happened with Kid Icarus: Uprising, which was supposed to be a 3DS launch title, but came out about a year and half late, too. Sakurai takes his long, long time to make his games.
Ppl used to say that about FF Versus XIII now FFXV. If anything vaporware its probably the Last guardian now. We've seen more than enough smash bros.
I predict it will come out the same time Mario 3D world did this year.
Sounds likely. I only hope that Nintendo doesn't throw all of their releases in the latter half of 2014, they need to space out their games more evenly. 2013's first half was pretty bad for Wii U owners, because Nintendo released almost everything noteworthy starting from august. So, I won't mind too much if Smash releases in november of next year, as long as Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, X, Bayonetta 2 and other games are evenly released throughout the year.
By the time this game comes out, another 50 Mario games would have been released.
I knew it was a 'too good to be true' kinda thing. I'm sure they WANT to put SSBU/3DS out as soon as possible, but they want to make sure the game is actually finished as well. And with Sakurai's sickness and whatnot, it might be slowing down progress a little. I'm expecting it to be after E3 next year. Maybe a late summer release?
Well, I was thinking spring time, around when brawl came out, April or May. I doubt it will be released during the summer, so i'm going to assume the holiday season.
Nintendo always does this
*attempts to put positive spin on it as to not appear as a troll* ...... *realises there is absolutely nothing positive to be taken from this revelation* nintendo are losing badly now
I'm betting it's gonna be released next December or November.
I expect more of their games to be delayed sucks for those people who were holding out on buying the system for this game. They should really start looking for other alternatives in the meantime... ;)
