Knack Review - PlayStationer

Platforming action games have always been a popular genre and there are many franchises that have found success from Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter to the still current Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank. Knack appeared to be the new PlayStation 4 entry that was ready to join these heroes but sadly it falls short of matching any of them. (Knack, PS4) 60/100

I enjoyed knack, it wasn't revolutionary, but enjoyable. Without going into detail I would probably give it a 7/10. Worth a playthough, but I agree with the review, it's definitely not a marathon game, more of a change of pace game 30-45 minutes at a time.

I found this game to be good, surprisingly good

the game-play is challenging in a fun way even on normal difficulty, I found myself addicted, I gave it 8.5/10.

the way to play this game is to not get hit, those who try it should apply dash and double jump and save the sun stone power for the really hard parts. master the sense of timing and try to land the first punch and follow thru.

6/10 sounds spot on

Generous score in my opinion based on the 15 min play test I had with it.
This game embodies generic, dull and phoned in. Mark Cerny should be ashamed of what he accomplished here.

Give the man slack, he probably just pulled this out of his ass while he was focusing on building the PS4.

Give the man slack? Well if what you say is correct that he did pull this out of his ass while making playstation then why would someone give the man slack?

Us gamers deserve the best......I hate when a game is halfed ass.....and thats if what you say about his pulling it out of his ass while making ps4 is true

Why even bother to make the game then? If he is "pulling it out of his ass" it's like charging $60 for a piece of shit.

One of the most stupid sentence I've ever read here.
Compliments.

I'm tempted to make a "Most Interesting man" meme about this: http://knowyourmeme.com/mem...

I don't normally share my final impressions of a game....

... but when I do, it's after only playing it for 15 minutes.

Good thing reviews are not usually based on 15 minute play tests.
Bundi  +   788d ago
You are right, the bulk of reviewers played the entire game and yet came to the very conclusion that I did: http://www.metacritic.com/g...
n1kki6  +   786d ago
Correct. That's why I will read their reviews while discounting yours. Regardless of your opinion they played the entire game and that holds more weight.

Fair review.

I just finished Knack and I had a blast. It is a beautiful game and I had a lot of fun with it. Knack is not a game for anyone who is looking for a mature game. There is no Profanity, Blood or Nudity and to a lot of people, this makes it a kids game. Knack has a good story with solid gameplay mechanics. You die a lot because the enemies can be very difficult and varied. The hunt for all of the different crystals and relics just adds to the fun.

Knack is a solid 8/10

I agree this game will be slept on because its no blood and guns, its a pure platformer at best and it definitely last more than 8 hours which is good for today's games.
Myself and my kids had fun with it, and crank up the difficulty and its even better.
People need to give this game a chance.

If this was released on 3DS or PS1 it would be viewed as a great game.
