Controllers From Last Generation On New Consoles

Having had a chance to spend just a few hours on an Xbox One, Taylor (at the gaming heretic) can personally reaffirm, based on current research, that a good controller is still essential to satisfying gameplay. Controller design is one area in which Microsoft has fallen short, this generation. The redesign of the Xbox controller feels more similar to the second edition of the controller for the original Xbox than to the more ergonomic controller released with the Xbox 360. Wow good read. I was a big fan of 360 control but ds4 kills them all.

Yea, Taylor always writes great articles and has great insights. I never really thought about how integral a controller was until this piece.

Interesting, might have to look into this to continue to use the 360 controller. All MS had to do was improve the D-pad and get rid of the battery hump from the 360 controller to improve it. Instead they had to change too much making the bumpers and thumbsticks worse. The thumbsticks in particular irk me for their floaty loose feal.

I completely agree SilentGuard. 360 is still the greatest controller ever made. You can actauly buy a 360 controller with the new xbone analogue sticks and D-pad.
