JoWood to Acquire DreamCatcher

Vienna, Austria-based publisher JoWood is set to acquire DreamCatcher, the Toronto publisher behind the Painkiller franchise.

Although DreamCatcher is most recently known for publishing People Can Fly's Painkiller first-person shooter, the publisher has a long track record made up of adventure games. The adventure game genre hit its height in the late 80s and early 90s with franchises such as King's Quest, the Secret of Monkey Island and Myst, but hasn't been as popular since.

The deal will make DreamCatcher a wholly-owned subsidiary of JoWood...

Cant wait. Jowood is known for terrible quality control. So bad that its a joke in the industry that at least your not releasing a jowood.
