Girl vs Game: Remember Me

J Station X writes:

"Like an ever faithful steam engine, good ol' PlayStation Plus keeps chugging along. Passengers get a delectable buffet cart of free titles every month and like the Grade A hoarder that I am, I have yet to get through them all. So, once a fortnight I take on a PS Plus title and test its mettle and this month's challenger is...Remember Me."

Bad review.

Remember me is a great game. Great protagonist, good story, great setting and art design, nice visuals, fun gameplay.

Combat takes some getting used to and could be better but is fun once you get to grips with it. It's a linear game but that is fine with me, linear does not equal bad.

8/10.

Linear is bad when the original announcement and showing of the game made it appear to be open world. The devs didn't come out and finally admit that the game was linear until the game was right about to release. It was deceptive and upset a lot of people.

I can't speak on the quality of the game itself though. I've never played it because I was put off by the pathetic sympathy marketing and ridiculous comments by the game's director.

Don't know anything about that. Games shouldn't be rated on marketing, but the final product.

I CAN speak to the quality of the game having completed it, and as I said above, it's very enjoyable. Far from perfect but still great fun, on a similar level to something like Vanquish or Binary Domain.

I don't like how people call a review "bad" purely because it's not the same opinion they have.

I also disagree with many of his comments but it's a well written and well structured review :D

Nope. I called it bad because as she says it is barely even a review, more of an opinion piece. She obviously didn't enjoy the game but her reasons for not liking the game are poorly explained and largely invalid.

Don't want to be mean but it's not well written. She uses the term 'by all means'when she means 'by any means', and ends with an obvious cliche about it not being memorable.
