At its best, "Marvel's Midnight Suns" puts you at the heart of adrenaline-pumping action sequences pulled straight from the pages of Marvel Comics.
Interesting combination here as Marvel and Fortnite have teamed up on new covers.
So those covers, as well as the unreleased ones pretty much confirm we'll soon be getting Venom, Blade, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, and Captain Marvel.
With exclusive titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and the recent Spider-Man announcement for Marvel's Avengers, GotGame analyzes what Marvel exclusives would be a good fit for Xbox.
I truly belive MS doesn't have what it takes to make a genuinely amazing exclusive Marvel game. I mean look at the disgrace they're doing to their own flagship characters like halo infinite.
I don't get it.
Not a Halo player, but what exactly are they doing badly with Infinite besides the visuals? I've actually heard good things about gameplay from a lot of people (though there are people who think it looks too similar to Destiny). If you mean that, I always assumed people liked Destiny a lot.
By the way, I'm genuinely asking.
@DarXyde
It’s too little too late.
Halo Infinite should’ve led the Xbone gen, not barely closed it off with nothing new but a poorly demonstrated grappling hook. (Cool idea, but not enough after we all bought $500 consoles 7 years ago for this popcorn fart of a reveal)
@DarXyde The complaints stem from the bad graphics and the signs of development-hell. They're saying the right things about the campaign direction, but when it demoed looking the way it did, it seems no where close to being ready
Bruh I'm not surprised you didn't counter me with any sensible argument. When the truth hurts, y'all resort to sarcastic statements,or outright name callings 😂. And that's why MS will remain mediocre for you guys always. It doesn't make sense.
Marvel is not going give any of its beloved characters to a company who doesn't know what to do with their own characters.
Hello? Comic Police? I’d like to report the murder of a character we loaned out!
Lol apparently you haven’t seen all marvels cash grabs on crappy mobile games. They will license if the price is right let’s all be real here.
The random mobile game isn't anywhere near as high profile as a console exclusive would be. Theres already a notion that mobile have gotten pass before bc they are mobile.
Hahahaha Sony really gave an existential crisis to all these soy boys, wait till the TRULY big partnership are revealed to see the suicide rates spike lol
Suicide is not a joke. For those really affected by this competition they should be encouraged to seek help.
Why would Marvel want to damage their image by letting Microsoft make an low rated unfinished MTX filled pile?
First, they have to prove themselves with their own storied, single player properties. And a while back, Microsoft had a chance to bring a Marvel MMO to the Xbox platform and canceled it.

The only reason they have DC Online is because Sony sold the developer responsible for the game. Sony can handle Marvel and DC it seems. In and out of VR.
It's possible they could get something. But even as a Punisher fan, not a Gears clone that would have a limited player base because it's too bloody compared to the universally accepted, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man by kids and adults. And, do we need another, "What does Tameem Antoniades think is cool game?" DMC wasn't cool. But Capcom created DMC5 themselves and Dante was cool again and sold well to original fans with better style and combat.
Howard the Duck? "Wait wait wait! Just hear me out." Lol! Just NO!
It comes down to quality and consistent output. Sony has less money but gets approached often because of output. Microsoft is worth a TRILLION and barely gets any offers if any. They need to raise the bar. When that bar is achieved, then give them a chance at a property. Don't need another Crackdown fiasco.
If you were a fan of Double Fine and early Tim Schafer games, you’d be all over a Howard the Duck game. Is it as universally loved as Spider-Man? Of course not. The article says that. The idea is that the developer could make a funny adventure game. Just cause you’re not interested doesn’t mean nobody is, and since Microsoft owns Double Fine, it would be a Marvel property that makes sense for them.
Also, a lot of people like DMC, they just didn’t want it to replace the original series (which it was never going to). Tameem Antoniades isn’t even involved in all Ninja Theory games, but nobody complains about him for the Hellblade series that he directs.
No Xbox fan is going to be asking for Howard the Duck. You're basically guaranteeing low sales of that game. And if it's thrown into Game Pass, it basically means no sales at retail that matter. Doesn't matter if I like Howard or not. It would be a waste of time for them to do it.
Tameem didn't think the original Dante was cool. His Dante was originally atrocious until the backlash helped change it.

The game didn't sell as well too even though they kept trying to shove it down our throats with sales and bundles with the other games.
https://www.google.com/amp/...
No one minds original IPs. That's good for the industry. Him trying to say what's cool when even the combat wasn't up to previous games, the fact that they didn't get another shot at making another, means I know what I'm talking about and you don't.
@ApocalypseShadow
All I said was that there were people that liked the game, which is still true. Your "I know what I'm talking about and you don't" logic doesn't work when I literally didn't disagree with you about it or argue. If you hate DmC that badly, that's fine, but not all Ninja Theory games are DmC. I liked DmC. The people that made DMC5 liked DmC (and even took additional inspiration from it). I know not everyone liked the game, but that doesn't mean the developers lack any talent (again, Hellblade exists, which is pretty much universally praised).
And again, I never said Xbox fans were asking for Howard the Duck. Nobody did. I simply said it was a good fit for Double Fine. Do you know the games Double Fine makes? Your limited views don't represent everyone's taste. Nobody said the game would sell like hotcakes, it's just a world that works well for the developer's talents.
Of the games in the article, I would say the Punisher works best.
I didn't mention their other games as I like and still have Heavenly Sword on PS3. I liked it because it was original and had Kai in it. Lol. Limited views. Okay young man. But DMC stunk with most fans. Myself included. My not liking or buying it has nothing to do with it. Most didn't either. That's why it didn't SELL. I was just proving both points. And that Tameem's version of "cool" wasn't cool. It's already fact. Not opinion. Or they would have been given the chance to make DMC5. They weren't. They never should have been given a chance to make a Capcom game that lacked Capcom style.
Double fine or any other Microsoft developer can choose to make Howard the Duck. But it will not sell. The purpose of making a game is to sell it. It would just be another GP game you play and move on from. No retail sales. That's not what Xbox needs. ***THE POINT*** is to get a game and character at the level of what Sony is getting. And you really think Howard would do it? Nevermind that it might be funny. That's not raising the bar.
I mean, if a trillion dollar company and you are fine settling for Howard the Duck or Roger Rabbit or Spider Pig, hey, then that's fine. Lol. You can enjoy them. I'll just watch the movies and read the comic. I wouldn't waste my time on a $60 game based on them.
The Punisher would be fine if it's its own game. Not a Gears clone as suggested in the article. As I said above.
But I've suggested this before. With Microsoft's relationship with Epic during Xbox 360, that money they spent on near bankrupt third party companies and Halo could have been better spent bringing one or both of these to life on Xbox

When a PlayStation fan can come up with better ideas because they had a great relationship because of Gears, what does that say about Microsoft's thinking? Raise the bar dude.
@ApocalypseShadow
Just calling it out, but DmC: Devil May Cry DID sell. It's the second best selling entry in the series and is #29 on Capcom's Platinum title list of best sellers for the original version (not counting definitive). It had nothing to do with sales for Ninja Theory not getting the chance to make a sequel (which would not have been Devil May Cry 5. The plan was to have both universe co-exist). It was the fan backlash that made them fall back on continuing that universe. The game also did well critically, so again, you shouldn't express your opinions as facts just because of a personal vendetta against the director.
Also, nobody said a Howard the Duck game would be a full priced game. Guardians of the galaxy the Telltale Series wasn't a full priced game and plays just like how the article suggested. Maybe it would be a game to simply play on Game Pass. Oh well, that's how many people treat all the AAA titles too. Every single game in that Xbox Series X presentation will be on Game Pass. They've already gone all in on it. Retail sales on Xbox games have dwindled significantly since the Game Pass first party decision.
Lastly, the article doesn't suggest a Gears clone for the Punisher game:
"Of course, cover based shooting would play a big part in this, but they have to change up the formula so it’s not just a Gears skin."
It clearly states that a Gears skin isn't the goal.
Now, since you seem so passionate about this, which Marvel character would you suggest for Xbox Game Studios to take on? Instead of arguing against the article, maybe make your own suggestions? We all know that you can't top Spider-Man's popularity. There are other options, but you have to consider the developers that Microsoft has in their stable.
When and if Microsoft got their quality up, they should try Dare Devil.
Not only is he in the same area of New York like Spider-Man, but he's nibble, hand to hand combat ready, can swing through the city and run across rooftops like Spider-Man, would have an interesting sensory perception like Spider-Man, cool weapon, cast of characters that might show up are Kingpin, The Defenders, Elektra, Punisher, etc.
Side interesting thing would be law cases that Matt Murdock would have to prove with evidence, an enemies guilt from the play level or defend someone's innocence. That would add to the deep story telling of the game.
But only if they went all out and made it quality after getting their output up. They could use the comic book and the Netflix series as a template.
How's that? I gave you one. Thought it up in 5 minutes tops.
@ApocalypseShadow
Cool idea, but it sounds like you're suggesting Xbox just copies Sony by picking a hero that's fairly similar to Spider-Man (your whole description is basically summed up to "like Spider-Man"). You also didn't exactly suggest a team to handle it, which is sort of the point of picking a hero for Xbox Game Studios to take on, but oh well. Out of all the teams they have, I would say Ninja Theory would probably be the best option for the task, though you might disagree with me there. I also feel they could likely do a different hero better.
But hey, at least you answered the question.
I wouldn't mind howard the duck myself. But perhaps have him within a Guardians of the Galaxy game.
Not that I would want it to be exclusive.
Anyhow, Punisher may be a good fit, but he's not really a super hero, just an ordinary guy doing extraordinary things. There is a lot of that already, and while he's a popular character, I don't think he's big enough to drive that much interest.
Give them Aquaman. They can do an Aquavelva cross promotion.
Wow. Is it that hard to understand the relationship Sony has with Spider-Man and Marvel? If they didn’t have the relationship, the exclusivity wouldn’t have happened. Microsoft has NO relationship so even thinking of this topic is pointless. It’s like what exclusive .... well I can’t think of a direct comparison because it’s a unique situation.... bottom line, give it up and buy a PlayStation if it matters this much.
I have a really cool Ironman car in Forza Horizon. If you are hoping for fan made skins or Halo Infinite Hulk Smash emotes you may have your dreams met.
Everyone acting like marvel really cares lol
Ddid anyone watch that stupid golden fist or whatever on netflix? How about captain marvel?
Let's not forget games that have released in the past that sucked.
MS have deep pockets and this pandemic is not helping disney/marvel bring in the money.
Throwing jabs at ms so everyone can stand around in a kumbaya circle jerk for the sake of being the best pathetic fanboy of all lmao. Grow up for god sake. MS could pay for exclusive content and would get it if they wanted just like sony.
"Microsoft can pay to get it."
Where is it? They are worth a trillion but currently have NOTHING. They should be embarrassed. Ignore that all you like.
It's so funny when gamers like yourself bring up their money. When 500 million hasn't helped their flagship game Halo look like next gen. "But But But current gen won't hold it back." Lol!
Just embarrassing. They don't deserve a Marvel or DC game until their quality goes up. It also shows you have no argument when you have to attack the truth coming from gamers.
Maybe Deadpool but I don't know anybody who has the same popularity as Spiderman maybe except Batman
Xmen as a full franchise probably. Marvel has a lot of popular characters that people are familiar with, but not sure how many could carry their own big game at the level of Spiderman, that aren't already attached heavily to The Avengers. Agengers is pretty much the most popular Marvel characters all in one group.
If marketed the right way Deadpool, Wolverine or even Black Panther could be great but only character that can match or even beat Spiderman at a big game level is Batman and DC did well with him in the games. Marvel would be better to write off the Fox Xmen movies and start fresh I lost interest in the movies and adamantium being poisonous to Wolverine I thought was stupid.
Maybe Deadpool or Wolverine. But I think that those franchises would do better as multiplats with a dev that cares about making a good game out of them.
the problem is Phil doesnt want to spend money for exclusive games or content like they used to. Sure a marvel game would be great for xbox but not with Phil in charge.
Would any Xbox fans care to comment in here? So far I have only seen the SDF commenting.
Though i think there are some interesting ideas in the article personally as an Xbox fan I don't care at all about a Marvel game, I mean if they get one great but I have no burning desire to play one wherever it may be. What Xbox needs to do imo is double down on it's own studios and look to purchase/create a few more. Having a Marvel game isn't going to magically do anything apart from brand awareness from the public which will only get you so far (Marvel Avengers for example isn't exactly setting the world on fire from the gameplay and reactions I've seen), concentrate on pumping out your own franchises instead.
These are not games! wtf
