Electronic Arts files Desert Strike trademarks

Electronic Arts has submitted two new trademark applications for Desert Strike with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, hinting that a remake of the popular 1992 shoot 'em up video game is in the works. On November 25, 2013, the video game company filed the trademarks (US Serial Numbers: 86128233 and 86128236) for Desert Strike. Desert Strike was originally released in February 1992 and involved the player piloting an AH-64 Apache helicopter.

Love this game. Still have the Sega Genesis box actually sitting in front of me on desk oddly enough. lol

Lost the game though back in the 90's, which was a bummer and never bothered to re-buy it because I was young, didn't have a job, and by the time I lost it, I had just gotten an N64 so I was more concerned with Mario 64 & Wave Race at the time.

I played Jungle strike a few times to and it was also good, but I've never played Urban or Soviet Strike.

This was the best one IMO.

One such title was 'Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf', a helicopter combat game released in 1992 for the Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive). Players were pitted against a fictitious Middle Eastern warlord identified as 'Kilbaba', who aims to start World War III "or worse"."
