Fighter Within Review | XboxAddict

Brace yourselves. Fighter Within is a Kinect-only fighting game that brings us motion fighting where you’ll be flailing your arms, legs, and doing other silly moves in hopes to not only beat up your opponent, but that the game will register what you’re trying to accomplish by waving said limbs about. When you try go to recalibrate your Kinect because you think it’s something on your end not making the game work properly and as advertised, but it’s not, then you have a problem. Welcome to Fighter Within! (Fighter Within, Xbox One) 20/100

It's a good thing this review score is not a representation of how many copies of this game will sell, because 20 seems like a really small amount!

I wonder how much money was spent. Developing this game? Either way I can't ever see this game breaking even.

Edit: I thought a score like this meant the game was completely broken and unplayable!?

Nailed it.

Sadly, there is no universal scale for scores and very few people demand that people score things logically or exactly fairly.

This is the problem many had with MANY of the launch titles, since sites / journalists were grading things with unfair expectations and unrealistic goals. Many launch titles were mocked / flamed / scored low because people acted like every launch title has to redefine gaming and anything else is bad (we all know that every other launch title prior to this gen showcased everything possible. Especially the 3DS with Street Fighter being the "biggest" game). At least in the case of Fighter Within, it's a game that people were looking at and are going to gauge first impressions of the Kinect 2 off of. The game falls VERY short in that department, so I can understand why it scores super super super low.

Why can't a completely horrendous game get a 2/10 without being unplayable? If 2 is unplayable, what's a 1? "Extra unplayable"?

A crappy Ubisoft Kinect game?! OHMAHGAHD

This game is getting destroyed... I don't think I've seen a review higher than 3/10 yet...

A few sites have, but even a 3 - 4 isn't something to slap on the box.
