If I'm not mistaken, didn't XIII-2 sell poorly as well? Way worse than XIII? Can't understand why they continued with the XIII series even with all the red flags.

FF13 sold 6million+(over a 3-4year period btw) while FF13-2 sold 3.2million+(over a 1-2 year period).

They keep continued the FF13 saga because so many people brought FF13. Even though 13-2 didn't sell as well as its predecessor it still was profitable for them. However I expect 13-3 sells to be lower than that of 13-2. However SE probably will do this with every popular future FF title.

well your not wrong, they stated to be doing that with ff15 as well i think.

they already have the engine and the assets, so making these sequels should cost much less than the first game. Another thing to take into account is that if they keep making them it's because they're making some profit, otherwise they wouldn't waste their time.

But seriously, it's hard to believe that FF13-2 sold 3 millions... Although a far-cry from the 7 millions of the original.

Square finally got some payback and the people themselves have spoken of how horrible the trilogy Nova cristallis was as a whole.

Of course sequels of sequels are gonna sell less... That doesn't mean that "S-E IS DYING AND SHOULD BURN AND GIVE US BACK OUR MONEY BECAUSE WE'RE ENTITLED FANS"

They're still selling a whole lot more than many devs/publishers and their games, while changing, are far from being poorly made products.
