Sonic, Failure (Super Smash Bros Update 27.11.2013)

Like in Brawl, Sakurai will be providing daily updates on the development progress of Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS through Miiverse.

Today's update is a screenshot of Sonic attacking Bowser's shell. It seems that the shell protects bowser from his attack, hence why Sakurai said "Sonic, Failure" in miiverse. (3DS, Super Smash Bros., Wii U)

This is relevant? lol.

Very much so; Bowser's shell never acted as an obstacle against damage before now, so this could be a part of his meta-game, especially against fighters that use a lot of aerial attacks.

In Sonic's own games you normally wouldn't be able to just jump on top of a spiked enemy.

I don't know if Sakurai is actually making Bowser's shell able to do damage to people that touch it or Bowser takes less damage or both.

I think it's just a joke pic and reference to Sonic's games.
