Sony Need To Remove Twitch Feature From PlayRoom

Eskimo Press: "The integration of Twitch TV streaming into next-generation consoles is genius. However, some people are abusing this new feature in hopes of getting their 15 minutes of fame. Maybe that would be fine, if they didn't use Twitch TV and hog bandwidth from the real gamers who like to stream."

If you actually filter out the idiots and morons twitch is a good place on playroom. If i'm interested in a game i'll go and look at some game play on there.

FiLTHY ESKiMO1729d ago

... but then the people who actually invested in PVRs will stream The PlayRoom. So it is a win-win scenario.

I hate dumb articles.Crazy stuff been going on, on twitch long before ps4 released.GET OVER IT.

Ban everybody with eskimo in their name and ban the site

komp1729d ago

Twitch will moderate. It is their site that gets the "name" in reports.

Anyone could stream anything anyway so it is not a PS4 issue overall.

Also remember the sillyness dies out quite quick anyway, naturally, as the "meh" sets in.

I say the more features the better

FiLTHY ESKiMO1729d ago

With the bombshell of Twitch TV fails you find now, I would assume this is a safe bet. Having the stream feature in The PlayRoom just encourages people to get drunk, stoned, and do stupid crap live on cam... all for their fifteen, or five, minutes of fame.

Vojkan1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

no one is forcing you to watch, I don't watch.
There is a problem only if you give it attention

FiLTHY ESKiMO1729d ago

There are a lot of young gamers (kids) on Twitch TV. I'd rather not have my son or daughter watch someone do drugs, get naked, or anything like that on Twitch TV. There are other sites for this kind of stuff... keep it off Twitch TV.

Vojkan1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

it's your responsability as a parent to take of your kids and what they watch. They can find even worse things on the Internet. Stop with Self Entitlement BS.

FiLTHY ESKiMO1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

... and this is exactly what I am doing, Vojkan. You shouldn't have to ban your kids entirely from visiting Twitch TV. That's not the solution. The kids are not the problem, the people abusing the Twitch feature for their own fame is the problem.

As a gamer, I would never deprive my son of taking advantage or being a part of a community like Twitch TV. It is for gamers... but now I am seeing an abundance of people on Twitch TV trying to promote something else entirely.

I don't know why a lot of people are so against removing the Twitch TV feature away from The PlayRoom.

GribbleGrunger1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

Oh give over FiLTHY ESKiMO, you're far too transparent. Don't come in here pretending you have legitimate concerns, beating the moral drum like an evangelist.

Larry L1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

So, what you're saying is that you don't want to take responsibility as a parent to deny your child something? You REFUSE to say NO to your kid, even though you know there is potential there for them to come across adult material.....and you demand that Sony be the responsible parent to your child and come off as "the bad guy" by removing an everyday feature that just about any device supports or has a version of?

I have a better idea. YOU tell your kids what they can and can't do because they are YOUR kids and YOU are respnsible for them, instead of demanding companies and/or governments raise them.

Unfortunately your mindset is so prevalent these days, I don't hold much hope for the future anymore.

some dude was walking around with a slice of pizza in his waistband the other night, in playroom. ugh...

Hicken1729d ago

How weak is this argument of yours?

NO, if you're a responsible parent, you keep tabs on what your kids watch/play. With something like Twitch, content not suitable for them is an inherent risk, just like people using profanity in an online game.

You're just making dumb-ass excuses for... well, I don't know WHY. But the excuses are stupid. And your defense of them is stupid.

Don't go removing features because you're too incompetent to handle things yourself.

NeoTribe1729d ago

People like you are the reason basic freedoms get taken away. Your breed needs to go somewhere. X1 perhaps.

That's simple don't let your kid on twitch TV unless you can't do your job like 99.9% of today's parents.

FiLTHY ESKiMO1729d ago

That's a little harsh wouldn't you say. There is absolutely nothing wrong with letting your son or daughter watch Twitch TV. Especially a game called "The PlayRoom". You would assume that game attracts a lot of younger gamers.

There are several of thousands of people streaming The PlayRoom, and nowhere near that amount of staff or moderators working for Twitch.

I don't think Sony should remove the feature from the PlayStation 4... just from that specific video-game. If you can even call it a video-game.

GribbleGrunger1729d ago (Edited 1729d ago )

"If you can even call it a video game"

... So transparent.

How about fighting for the rights of consumers to get things free like they are on other devices, or not have to worry about advertising, or being sold a FULL PRICE game designed entirely around microtransactions. How about the right to be sold a concept that actually God damn works as advertised.

ninavoljic1729d ago

Every video streaming site needs to have a filter for adult content.
