Terrence discusses his favorite music related moment in video games. Retro music is great, but the way it's implemented in some of today's games can make it really special.
Climbing the long ladder and the Snake Eater song playing in MGS3 is the best.
Firelink shrine and undead parish bonfires
demon souls the moment u enter maiden Astraea´s lair
mines was driving in gta vice city and michael jacksons song billy jean came on when i was runnin over pedestrians lol
My best game music... is probably from Total Anihilation on PC.. old time RTS but with some of the greatest music i've heard!
Mine would be Red Dead Redemption going home to your wife and kids and then that music plays "compass". First time in a game i felt really good about going home.
There's many moments, but my favorite one is from Oot. On your way up to Ganondorf's room, walking up the very long staircase, with his organ playing getting louder as you climbed. It did an amazing job of evoking a sense of tension and anticipation IMO.
Metal Gear Solid 4 and The Last of Us both had top notch soundtracks
One of my favorites would definitely be the fight with Sephiroth. I had gone through the entire game without dying once. I went through the entire final dungeon in one sitting without saving. It took me over an hour to defeat the boss just before Sephiroth(just couldn't figure it out). Then that music hits... I remember my jaw dropping. That was in 2012 btw. I've seen talk about how that game is overrated, and it's just nostalgia talking. That was my first time playing it, and it's honestly one of the best games I have ever played.
Mines are when you get on the 13th colossus in SotC : http://www.youtube.com/watc... In Flower, when you get superpowerful and sart to break iron and colour the city... And at the end of Journey when you fly to the mountain : http://www.youtube.com/watc... this one has the word epicness written all over it
