After watching and hearing the comments from the reviewer it seems he was actually very generous by giving it a 7.

I'd have to agree, I was looking forward to this but if its repetitive button mashing with same old same old, then it might have to be forza

or need4speed

DR3, Forza5, and Ryse for me, although clearly Ryse gameplay needed more work in the variety category it still looks worth a playthrough for me.

FamilyGuy1727d ago

Totally agree, from all the negatives mentioned it sounds like a 4-5 out of 10 yet he gives it a 7 without many positives to back that number up. 7 is a decent game, he did not describe it as a decent game.

Its hard to lie verbally and be convincing.

Its easy to just type a number.

To all the Xbox One owners that were looking forward to this game I say give it a shot. I could have just as easily listened to reviewers and cancelled my pre-order for Knack but I decided to take a chance on it and I'm glad I did. Who knows you might actually enjoy it.

A rental may be a prudent decision. It is a rather important tech demo for the Xbox One, even if the gameplay is undeveloped.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I feel the way it was described sounded equal to the end result. Great potential, but didn't do its best bc of the repetitive combat.
Im not trying to say this is the best game out there by any means, I'm just saying it could be a gem depending on genre preference.

i was going to get the xbone for ryse and dr3.. i'll just wait for kinect sports rivals or whatever that crap is called and get it then for my nephews and niece..

The issue I see with Ryse is that it was a Kinect game in the first place for the 360. It had to be simple gameplay wise because motion controls are not that great. I can clearly imagine the Kinect motion prompts coming up for the executions when it slows down and you don`t fail even if you don`t perform the action.

The clearly spent a lot of time to bring the graphics up to next gen standards when they moved the game from the 360 to the Xbox one, but they didn`t seem to put any real effort into adapting the gameplay to controller.

Use your own judgment though guys, c'mon, if it seems like something that appeals to you then give it a go. Reviews aren't the end-all be-all by any means. They're more overviews than anything, and it all depends on the person playing and writing it. I'm glad we're all gonna be able to share our own experiences and game-play this gen. Lets you get a better feel for it in my opinion.

Knack got horrible reviews and it definitely has a fan-base that enjoys it a lot. It got numbers as low as Twos and Threes out of Ten and that range is usually saved for downright unplayable games. I was actually quite irked about it at first, but now I'm honestly hoping that reviewers are actually starting to put the 10 point system to use now.

It seems like every other game was getting an 8 or higher towards the end of this last gen, so it's hard to separate the cream from the crop. I'm hoping that is what it is anyways.

Just for perspective, I'm never going to own an Xbox. I don't like M$ as a company, and I don't like how they're milking this industry, but I have nothing against its user-base. We're at the beginning of a new console generation and ALL OF US are in for some fun and cool treats coming up. That doesn't mean they'll all show up at launch though.
