When both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 were first announced earlier this year Sony came out looking like the good guys. Microsoft’s new console had to always be connected to the internet in order to play games and pre-owned games were going to be a thing of the past. Sony on the other hand, their new baby welcomed the second hand market with open arms and did not need to “ping” back every 24 hours. Embarrassingly Microsoft did a 180 on their new policies while Sony reiterated how consumer friendly the PS4 was. Critics and gamers both praised Sony and panned Microsoft, it would seem the console war already had it’s winner in the PlayStation 4 – the white knight of consoles but it would seem under that gleaming armour the champion had a few dirty little secrets.
