A look at some of the graphics in the PC version of Assassin's Creed 4 in these videos.
As much as i love pirates, i just can`t bring myself to buy this game.No matter how good it looks. So burnt out on Assassins creed
Sucks for you cause AC has redeemed itself in my eyes with this one. It's that good.
I'm considering trying it again, AC1 and AC2 were a borefest for myself.
Seconded. Thought I'd be done after hating ACIII but ACIV is brilliant.
This is the first I've wanted to play since Brotherhood. Will probably be picking it up soon.
That's too bad. its the best game this season in my opinion. but I have liked all the Assassin's Creed games. This one's the best in the series though.
But the thing is that their controls and gameplay mechanics are so bad and never change (except for the ocean stuff), just same stuff in a new environment.
You should still give Black Flag a try. I thought the same thing after I washed out of AC3 after a few hours. But Black Flag is magnitudes better. Yes at it's heart it's still the same style of gameplay. But the naval combat adds needed breaks. And the story and characters are so great. Unless you hate pirate themed stuff.
looks like Console graphics ported to the PC! Nice but not eye burning!
I felt the same way about AC, but ended up getting it due to the delay of Watch Dogs, and it's damn good. AC2 is/was my favorite, but I think AC4 will end up being my favorite when it's all said and done.
Yea this game is amazing. I thought AC 1 sucked, it just got boring very quickly to the fact that I didn't even finish the game. AC2 redeemed the franchise, Brotherhood, and Revelations was just great support titles and great on their own. They were a great trilogy. AC3 did a lot, but I didn't find it as memorable as I did with AC2. But, it was a great game. AC4, on the other hand, is doing a lot. Every AC sequel expands a handful on previous ideas. The sailing alone in this game is enough to justify the purchase price. What you can do in the water, makes you feel like you are in the game. You can go out and sail, find small islands, have a little battle with another ship, board that ship, and go off and do it again. The future is extremely bright with video games. I know they will do a lot more, and improve on all the ideas they have. Plus the graphics to this game are amazing. I'm pushing my PC maxing out the settings. I thank god for these new consoles, because they are going to push graphics, game play, ideas, and such for the PC, which can handle things that much better. With that being said, I'm going to go play it with my companion app.
All that sailing is exactly why I don't want to get it. I want this game without the sailing stuff. That annoyed me most about creed 3.
I thought the same thing, that's why I wasn't sure if I wanted to pick it up. Sailing is a lot better than in ac 3, the sea is very explorable and sailing it doesn't feel like an after thought, as it did in ac3. I'm having a blast with it!
Dat 4k textures
Yes the graphics is pretty nice and it is the most fun AC for me . Hope they improve the combat system in their next title and make the game more challenging .
Man...that dude in the first video. I love this game, but some of the AI's dialogue is SO annoying!
TBH not much different than ps4:S Just that it most likely has much higher frame rate:P I played it on Vita using remote play, I also have the PC version downloaded but haven't played it yet on pc, but from videos they looked almost the same. The PC version def having advantage in AA and SSAO.
Actually the pc version supports 4K textures and ubisoft worked with nvidia to add extra visual fidelity specifically to the pc version.
Exactly. It looks great on the PS4, but it does look even better on the PC. It really does look amazing. some scenes are simply stunning.
I didn't state my opinion to start a war there are definately much greater benefits to the pc than the ps4..version..and seriously who here has 4k? A handful of ppl...people barely have 2560x1600... I'm not denying it looks great, but the leaps aren't as big from let's say BF4 ps4 to PC. It doesn't seem like Ubisoft invested enough in the title. To be 100% honest, AC 4 isn't a next gen game in it's own, seeing as it was held back by the ps3/360. I gaurantee you the next release will see better Xbox one and Ps4 versions, and with extension a much great pc version.
The game looks nice but the world itself looks unusually static. Some foliage moves when you interact with it, but the majority of the other things in the green forests, like all the trees and leaves and what not, is completely static. Any immersion provided by how beautiful the forest looks is quickly killed by this lack of movement. same thing happened with AC3, looked great but everything was too static
Yes, sadly though only on 1 percent of machines, and that's being generous. One day the Cloud will even all this out, just pay a subscription, internet fees and you have best visuals money can buy (everyone can).
Of all pcs out there, maybe. You fail to realize that there is a huge market of pc gamers who build their own systems, most of them (at least that Ive encountered on forums, in real life, and on reddit can run this game at those settings.
1% of PCs >>> amount of next Gen consoles sold for a long time, what's your point?
yeah, not sure if this really is much better than PS4 based on these streams. but I'd have to imagine a 7970 can outdo a PS4 generally. i will add that either way, AC4's engine isn't quite as next gen as battlefield and shadow fall. you feel like you're in a different generation when you play those 2 games vs games like AC4 and COD which still look awesome, but not quite as 'living'
It does look good but it's severely unoptimized. It pretty much uses less than half of my CPU and my GPU never goes above 75% usage. Much like AC3. Unlike AC3, though this game is genuinely fun and after a bit of tinkering with the settings (hint: the environmental quality is the only cpu heavy option) the game runs at 60 FPS pretty much. Looks good, could have been much better.
Any other tweaks you can recommend? My rig is more than powerful enough to max this out at 60fps but I'm stuck at 65% GPU usage tops.
Honestly there's not a lot to do but hope that Ubisoft does a decent patch which is very unlikely considering that this is probably an issue with the Anvil engine. Setting the environmental quality to low should give you a big bump in fps and make it a more stable.
AC3 looked amazing even on normal settings. Too bad, at least for AMD hardware it is very unoptimized.
At 1440p, I can confirm the beauty of the games. My goodness. I almost didn't buy it too. Dodged missing out on a great experience.
