It's a nice little gimmick and all, but it's something I will never use. I consider voice commands on my phone useful when I'm driving or at work.
A controller is all you need when in the comfort of your own home. But nevertheless, I will be picking up the Xbone this weekend.

Abriael1486d ago

You'll be able to use your xbox one while driving :D

JokesOnYou1486d ago

Yeah gimmick my azz, it's a really cool feature but if ps4 could do it THEN it would be the best thing since sliced bread.

xHeavYx1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

@Jokes
The PS4 can do voice commands, and the camera is not even needed.
I could care less about it, but I'm sure a patch could give even more options for the PS4, it seems that a future update may be needed for the One too, so that you don't have to repeat yourself, so that you don't have to repeat yourself, so that you... ( I'm sure you get the sarcasm by now)

So what happens if someone is talking in the background? do you have to be like ''can you guys STFU! so I can use my Xbone voice commands!!!''

Using a controller is much more efficient than having to repeat a voice command 2 or 3 times.

falviousuk1486d ago

No its, not really.

I use voice commands on the 360 to pause and start videos all the time.

If im getting up for a comfort break or to get a drink, its easier just sating xbox pause, then xbox play when i come back rather than grabbing the controller from the coffee table and turning it on as its usually turned itself off by then.

So there are great benefits to using kinect for voice commands

whothedog1486d ago

Nice gimmick?! Made me cringe seeing him having to repeat himself. Than waiting to see if the command actually took, Not convenient.

Pogmathoin1486d ago

Worst attempt at sarcasm ever.... Do you even understand the meaning of sarcasm?

It works and you don't got it! Nanah nanah nanah!

xHeavYx1486d ago

It really works, want to watch ESPN? Just use the secret code word "Discovery Channel" 3 times. My TV remote is jealous

JokesOnYou1486d ago (Edited 1486d ago )

Well only if you expect perfection. I own a ps3 and a 360 and every console before those(except win u)....guess what?.. they all have stalled, frozen, glitches in game, failed to connect online when all my other devices were connected, signed me out, etc, etc but it is indeed a rare occurrence. I FULLY EXPECT KINECT AND X1 TO NOT WORK PERFECTLY ALL THE TIME, none of my consoles ever did, my cell phone doesn't, my laptop doesn't and my Samsung Galaxy tablet didnt (broken now, I still highly recommend it over iPads). I'm sure there will be plenty of vids from every in individual who has a problem but that's fine with me, UNLESS the experience is diminished by constantly repeating maybe every few commands like 2 out 10 or something like that then I say it's great for me because I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. Show me any software/device/feature that never glitches.

4Sh0w1486d ago

Heavy you are like many fanboys just trying way too hard. Kinect works but yeah it will mess up, but again fanboys are the same people who notice a beautiful woman has a ugly toenail.

FITgamer1486d ago

I could never use this. One of my biggest pet peeves is having to repeat myself. That is why i don't have any kids.

crypticphildz1486d ago

haters gonna hate, looking forward to the new kinect.
