Shawn Long of Nintendoenthusiast.com takes a look at the negative world of the Wii U press.
All negative news is popular. Just look at the huge roster of "X things I hate about PS4" articles that've been coming out.
Why do Nintendo sites lately think it's only Nintendo that get negative stuff targeted at them...look at the PS3 from 2006 onwards when it launched and the Xbox One since it's reveal. If it's bad then it's going to get reported on, most things are exaggerated, some aren't but I wish these guys would stop making Nintendo look like a victim all the bloody time when really they've gotten it pretty easy over the years compared to other companies. Nintendo don't seem to know what they are doing with the Wii U, what do you want us to do...praise them...yeah that will show them. You know sometimes I feel like this is why they don't learn, because fans don't give them a reason to. Nintendo aren't fully to blame, fans are.
Victim complex. Similar to how certain Xbox-focused websites and Xbox fans were convinced the entire internet had been hijacked by "dem Sow-Nee fanburrs" after the Xbox One reveal went so horribly, horribly wrong.
What a load of crap. Whether Nintendo does somethin good or bad all u have is negative stuff to say, ur such a hypocrite I can't take u seriously, anyone who spends their majority of time trolling a game console are sick in the head. U act like u was in a relationship with Nintendo and they cheated on u or somethin and ur just a bitter ex. If u don't like Nintendo or Wii u then fine go and play somethin u do like instead of actin like a Sado and trollin every single Nintendo article.
@dedicated "Similar to how certain Xbox-focused websites and Xbox fans were convinced the entire internet had been hijacked by "dem Sow-Nee fanburrs" after the Xbox One reveal went so horribly, horribly wrong." Give it a rest seriously. So Sony fans signing petitions to bring DRM back, or the constant down-voting/trolling on Xbox One YouTube videos was just a figment of people's imagination. " Just look at the huge roster of "X things I hate about PS4" articles that've been coming out." Victim complex eh?
I agree is hard to root for Nintendo or praise them. Like really the company decides not to market it's system. It's best games are coming next year that is if those games don't get delayed. It has two major advantages but are not operated properly like free online gaming ;however, only like five or less third party wii u games offer online gaming none of wii u first party titles offer online. Backwards compatibility yet wii u owners have to jump hoops and loops to access their wii library......
No its isn't. That is a complete lie. People rage when even remotely negative news is posted about Sony. On the other hand, they celebrate and promote negative news about the Wii U and Nintendo as a whole. They promote all negative rumors and opinions as 100% absolute unquestionable fact and attack anyone who says differently. Anytime postive news is posted about Nintendo is gets ignored. When positive news is posted about Sony it gets raised to the ceiling. This attempt at generalizing the argument fails. Nintendo get more acute negativey directed at it than any other developer/console manufacturer. There is a HUGEEEEE difference in the way negativity is favored for the Wii U compared to any other hardware.
Well what is the good news. Honestly, the wii u primary audience is casuals/kids. This company is not innovating anymore whether is software or hardware. It's games are just re-skins of previous titles. Were is the marketing, the innovative games, were is the innovation of the gamepad. Hooking a tablet wannabe to a console is not innovative.
Spot on, well said
"Similar to how certain Xbox-focused websites and Xbox fans were convinced the entire internet had been hijacked by "dem Sow-Nee fanburrs" after the Xbox One reveal went so horribly, horribly wrong." I guess we forgot about the PS3 launch and how all the Sony fanboys were crying that the media was biased and all American media wanted to see Sony fall. How about whenever a Sony exclusive was rated low that site or reviewer was accused of being paid by MS. How about NOW that Knack and Killzone are getting reviewed low we are getting a bunch of sony fanboys saying that journalists are lazy or biased... Hell YOU just wrote a blog about it. How about Sony fanboys blowing up about no FCC report for the Xbox One. How about Sony fanboys declaring WiiU dead in it's first year but told the media to give Vita a year so it can have a chance. My point: You and two others are the biggest hypocrites this site has ever produced. It is amazing as I have said in another post how you went full on troll, not even a sliver of balance, just pure tasteless bias.
The Wii U has very little good news.
I can hear a fanboy crying from here.
I'm surprised there is actual Wii U news. Is there a special time it happens? Third leap year?
Because saying things like that is so mature. I guess everyone is drooling over the PS4 with hardware issues and Xbox One with Dead Rising 3 that looks straight out of a 360 title with sub 30fps constantly going on. All the guy is saying is that you never SEE positive Nintendo news because it never is popular to report. Only negative info is what gets to the masses. Read the article and you might understand that.
I'm not sure what maturity has to do with anything. Wii U news barely exists. There is far more PS3/4 and Xbox news of the negative type. If positive and negative news of the Wii U was it would still fall short of the negative news of the other companies.
Meanwhile, as Abriel continues to attack and report any news or article that is a deterrent to the launch of the PS4.
I don't think it's fanboyism, I think it's true. When a system has been out for a year and everyone is proclaiming it to be dead and to bow down to PS4 and Xbox One, it can be damaging.
It doesn't matter what system, negative news attracts people.
Because it outweighs the positive.
I kind of want Nintendo to fail at the console business and just be handheld/software developer, and they should be making games for PS4/X1. I'd like to play the new Mario, but I'm not going to get a Wii U to do it.
They can't fail. They have too much money to fail. The only way they will leave the hardware business is because they want to.
Or crushed by the competition when the Steam Machines are released is pretty much game over for consoles.
You'll have to play the game at a friends house then. In order for Nintendo to fail, they would have to lose 100 million for the next 100 years.
Nintendo has a market cap of 14.4 billion dollars as of May 2013. Cash on hand? 11.6 billion dollars. Assets? 16 billion dollars That won't happen
Exactly. Article states it.
People like drama. Seeing someone else unhappy makes them happy because deep down they sad inside. N4G is full of these types of people lol.
I think people including myself expected more from Nintendo rather its, marketing, hardware or software. They dropped the ball this generation, lifetime sales might be lower than the excellent Gamecube. I still maintain replacing E3 with Nintendo Direct was a horrible idea. Look at how much steam Nintendo lost since E3, they showed everything that was expected, nothing unexpected. In conclusion Nintendo just needs new leadership, a fresh idea if they want the Wii U to last past 2014/15.
It is quite simply because haters gonna hate.
I think the reason that people attack the Wii U (and Nintendo in general) is because we all know that Nintendo has so much potential. But they just can't seem to get their act together. They are behind the curve on the internet, on tech, on marketing, on the digital marketplace, etc. Nintendo has been a deer in the headlights of this industry for a long, long time. Everyone knows that Nintendo makes great games. Everyone wants to play Nintendo games, but it's hard to justify buying a wii U when the company seems inept and incapable of being a competitor in this environment. It's frustrating, because the reason Nintendo can't win is because they get in their own way. It's so easy to be an armchair quarterback because the company doesn't seem to understand the west, and gamers see Sony and MS doing a much better job over here. Nintendo just lurches from one boondoggle to the next. We want them to succeed, but they just aren't. So we complain.
People like to see things fail. It was the same story with the PS3.
The same reason why negative news about the 3DS was popular at once. http://www.postdesk.com/the... http://n4g.com/news/814748/... I like to look back on articles like this and laugh my *** off.
Wish I knew bro.
Oh please cry me a river.Every negative thing said about a system has every console fanboy there grinning and drooling, wringing their hands with their heads nodding at every bad thing said about the system.A 0.04 failure rate so far and a few hiccups and people are all over the PS4 like a bad itch dismissing it from all sides ready to tell Sony to throw in the towel. But as per usual Nintendo defenders have to play the victim in every gen.'Why do you always say mean things to us?' with tears in their eyes. After all these years even when their consoles recovered from the defeat Sony handed them the fanboys still cry every time you tease them.Open your eyes. The most popular thing right now is to put down the PS4.Wii U is barely even on anyone's negativity radar. But since no one is really paying attention to any of you right now you have to put yourselves into the spotlight somehow with articles like this.
