PS4 DualShock 4 on PC: how to make it work

Sony’s DualShock 4 controller has a chance to usurp the Xbox 360 controller for games that just don’t fit with a keyboard and mouse, such as Spelunky, Rogue Legacy, or Dark Souls. Sony president Shuhei Yoshida even confirmed on Twitter that the control will support “basic functions” in Windows at launch, which hints at further support down the road.

The story is too old to be commented.

I use it for planetside 2 on pc. Just hand to hook it up with a usb and keybind it. It was pretty easy. What's the status of ps2 coming to ps4?

Sweet, downloading this now. I need to finish Batman AO, might as well try it with the DS4

Until you can just plug it,install drivers, and play with ps button prompts I wont consider it full support. Its a step in the right direction but I have a feeling MS is holding them back in the drivers department.

Any developer can make a driver for Windows. The issue is that 99.9% of PC games use Microsoft's XInput API for controllers.

If Sony releases an official DS4 driver, then we'll have an easier time setting things up, with the added functionality of the track pad (which would be awesome for PC games that don't fully support controllers and even for navigating Windows with a controller!)

Sounds interesting would be a nice alternative from x360ce which requires you to replace the xinput file in each game folder
