"Advance Wars is a turn-based strategy game that’s essentially a less boring version of Risk mixed with Final Fantasy Tactics and the autumnal aesthetic of Pokémon.
Come to think of it, the game’s three main characters do eerily mirror the Ash, Brock and Misty dynamic. Alas, I digress.
Advance Wars is arguably the only war-centric videogame that doesn’t take itself seriously. While the plot involves warring factions and countries, the actual combat more closely resembles toy soldiers duking it out." - Stephen Hilger
