Sony has posted a troubleshooting guide for PlayStation 4 owners experiencing problems with "blinking blue lights," which signifies TV connectivity or hardware problems.
they are really on this issue trying to resolve it as quickly as possible which i really appreciate.

You also shouldn't be hit with a negative bubble if your comment has more agrees than disagrees. It's BS if you have 20+ agrees but because one camp doesn't like what you said they can take a bubble away.

Did anyone look at the comments in that thread? Did anyone notice that most of the accounts were recently created? I am just wondering if it was noticed. I thought it was a little weird myself, but maybe I am trying too hard to defend the issue. But honestly, this situation is a little too overblown. From my perspective if I had an issue with my PS4, I wouldn't go to Sony's forum and rage. I would on the internet searching for a solution. Google would be bitching at me for the amount of different searches I would do. If I can't fix it, my last option is, guess what Sony, but the difference is that I would call them. Now, not like others I choose to get a store warranty so either way, Sony wouldn't be involved from my viewpoint. This damn internet is ridiculous. I wonder what the Xbone launch is going to do. Sad.

@Enemy If you see things that way, i´m sorry, YOU are cause. Not the solution of ANY problem. I´m on the "other camp" so to speak, but i never/ever hit that "disagree" Button. Now people want the "desagree" button to go away, but as soon the first positive review of a X1´s game come out, the "disagree" button will become the favorite tool for many around here. When someone disagrees something that has great logic and very common sense, those people are brainwashed to believe that their opinion is flawless with no holes in their understanding. In their mind they only spoke it because they're afraid to be wrong, that they have to live with that mistake, to me, that's being weak minded not to accept that you're wrong for once. Right here, you have Sony trying to find a way to remedy the problems so they persist in less frequency. Also trying to find ways to make up for the people with the hardware problems currently the fastest they can. How is that wrong? I'm going to get a disagree by an ignorant fanboy holding their tongue, but the world isn't complete without the blind included, too.
Agreed that it doesn't constitute a huge drama but to point out the obvious is fair game. Props to Sony for getting their shit together quickly on this. Lets hope MS's launch goes as well
Certain people like to have an item working out of the box if they paid for it 400 bucks...maybe that's why disagree? If I'd buy PS4 or XBOX ONe that would be broken right away I'd rage. I work hard for my money. They did not test the consoles well, they rushed it to get a cash injection, they don't deserve any mercy and MS won't deserve any too if they will fail.

@XboxFun Not just this one, but Amazon too. Out of all the bad reviews, 135 of them were not legit amazon purchases. 70% only made 1 review in their entire amazon shopping career. 20% of them double posted their review on Multiple Versions of the PS4 console. It's not by making multiple reviews that your PS4 is going to be "fixed". I've actually seen very few of them that are very plausible. Those ones actually called tech support for help. Because, I don't know anything about you guys, but the first thing I would do if I had a problem with a system, would be to call customer service for troubleshooting OR a replacement if that's the case. Not go make a review online on Amazon Especially since you've never made any review before or very few of them.
Oh yeah, NOW that I've said customer service they started to updating their reviews. Geez, there is no such thing as a Blue Light of Death, it's just not connecting to your HD TV. If it were DOA, there wouldn't be any light at all.
Only 23 pages on the forum with 10 responses per page a lot are multiple posts by people but if limited to 1 per person that's a max of 230 people with the problem with 1 million sold.. PERSPECTIVE.. If this was anything like RROD there would be hundreds of pages. I remember the xbox forums there was threads and thread of people having issues and trying fixes like the towel trick for RROD. That thread got to 224 posts (in 2 days). That's minor for a product that's sold over 1 million.

Er...I hope people realize that it's likely hard-reset of the TV that is actually fixing the issue...which could also be achieved by unplugging it. There's no reason why TV firmware would interfere with the connection to a console. In all probability it's an HDMI handshake issue...if you unplug an HDMI cable from one device and into another without first powering off (and often you must unplug), all devices in question, it can screw up the handshake process. I've run into this problem with every HDMI device I own...my PS3, my 360, my cable box (ESPECIALLY my cable box), etc.

I went through 4 ps2's and sony never acknowledged that there were problems with the system. Never received a replacement and had to buy all four, or send sony $120 to fix my system. The real test will be if they acknowledge the issues with the ps4 and try to make it right with their fanbase, like MS did with the 360. They have gotten away with shoddy systems for 2 generations in a row. I have no confidence that they will take the blame this gen.
MS didn't acknowledge the RROD issue until 2 years after its release. They'd already lost $2 bill by then, and it was confirmed to be a 50% failure rate, so they were forced to do something.

They still haven't, to this very day released official figures of how many 360's were returned.. Thats not "making it right with your fanbase". It's been 3 days since launch and Sony is already working on this and communicating with consumers... Try again bud
Mopar your incorrect. MS$ spent billions to correct the issue. It was easy to talk to them, email them and support in getting a replacement was a breeze. Hopefully Sony will fix the issues soon!
@Trekster_Gamer: educate yourself, Microsoft tried to say the failures were normal and people who were outside the warranty were told to buy a replacement or pack sand. It wasn't until July 2007 that Microsoft acknowledged there was a problem. I had 3 ps2's i sent to sony all at the same time for free repairs. All had differnt issues. Me and my brother both had launch 360's die they both never were fixed pre warranty so we both bought new ones. i had a disc read error on the second on and my brother got RROD on second one and they were both fixed for free. It goes both ways.
You are the first person I have EVER heard say that Sony fixed their PS2, everyone else in person or reading comments online has always said Sony did nothing but offer to fix it for the $120. I find your comment extremely hard to believe, also because I also never heard of MS not fixing a 360.

I don't care enough to explain but just now i gave the fixed ones to my mom for DVD's and one to a Mong family in Fresno my mom was mentoring. 360's were not replaced right away they were not fixed until they brought out the warranty and by that point who knows where my 360 went or my brothers much less all the components. I can care less you believe me tbh but my story is truth full. I have a PS3 i just sold that would only play games for 20mins then freeze 20 mins exactly. WHich was more then enough time to prove it worked to gamestop if you want to use the word ignorant don't be so loose with its meaning. I appreciate how easy it was to get my 360 replaced when it died. Sent it in and got it back three days later with a 3 months xbox live gold card. It's hard to say how big of an issue this "blue light of death" is but let's hope it will be taken care of appropriately. I have faith in sony.

i went to my friends house and busted a straight 7 on launch day, still going on strong.
I haven't turned mine off since Friday. If there actually was some sort of problem with it, which I don't think there is, I want to catch it early and get it taken care of. I can't believe how quiet this thing still is after being on for 2 days.
I've logged at least 30 hrs on mine over the last 3 (technically 4) days without so much as a hiccup.. Killzone mp runs fantastic, Assassins creed IV is a blast, Resogun is A-freaking-dictive, remote play flawless, and the system is whisper quiet.. Sony knocked it out of the park without question...
I ordered 2 PS4's one for upstairs and one downstairs. One of them won't output video. Thankfully the other one is working no problems at all.
look into the HDMi port, you might have some bend wires, straighten it out

If anyone cares just got off the phone with sony. They are sending me a box and when they receive the PS4 they are going to overnight a brand new one back to me. Not ideal but at least it won't take to long.
I want to see an informal poll with two questions: 1) Are you having issues with your PS4? 2) Did you buy it at Amazon? I would wager that the vast majority of problem consoles came from Amazon, due to some supply-chain freakishness that led to the entirety of a bad batch to end up in their warehouses.
I have 0 problems i have 9 friends all have 0 problems. Lets hope it stays that way :)
l'm still stoked for Australia's release! Glad to know they're looking into it a few days after launch. honestly the amount of fear mongers on websites trying to discourage buyers for either console is sad.

Yep checked, all is good. I have a old hdtv with only one hdmi slot and my sky tv works great. Don't want to buy a new tv yet either as 4k is becoming cheaper and hoping to buy one January sales 2015, so hoping all is well come ps4 UK launch when I get my baby home. Just got a bad feeling though. Hope the gaming gods are looking down when I plug her in. Edit: got the problem when I had a power cut on my ps3, Sony sent me a new one and same thing, no input signal displayed on tv, maybe the New hdmi 1.4 will solve it or may have to wait for the hdcp update Sony are taking out for broadcasting.
None of them worked, my PS4 can't go into Safe Mode, doesn't even turn white. I just happened to get one of the most broken PS4s. Now I probably have to wait until Black Friday and wait in line to get a damn PS4 -.-

@FlameHawk Two things: 1) You're not guaranteed to get one on Black Friday. If you send it in, you WILL get it back within a month. 2) Why the hell is waiting for 3 weeks or so so hard? Yes, it sucks that you got a busted console, but holy crap man, you sound like a junkie needing his fix.
It's not that people think "SONY CAN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG". It's that instead of getting it fixed FOR FREE, you want to spend more money by getting a completely new one.

@flame you arent supposed to return hardware like that to the retailer.. even says so in the user guide under warranty..
