MIT Kinect project allows remote manipulation of real-life objects

Microsoft’s Kinect has been hacked for use in many interesting projects over the years – some with no link to gaming whatsoever.

Now, MIT have built something called a Dynamic Shape Display, which allows a user to manipulate real-life objects from any distance away. Using the Kinect sensor, a user is able to manipulate virtual in-game objects. However, the Dynamic Shape Display links the interactions to a real-life-object.
