New 13 second video showing stunning high octane chase.
Good lord this game is pretty...
Imagine it was stuck at baked daylight settings all the time. We'd hardly notice how beautiful it really is. It'd get dull after 5 races. Day/night transition is something every racing game should have, especially if you're making loud "realism" claims. Just look at those dynamic skies. http://i4.minus.com/iHHly3t... I want to see competitors make the same claims.
Maybe if I rewind it will get better? maybe?
I know what you're doing. You're comparing it to the "other" game... This time I have to agree with you though. The other game is always bright and sunny all the time and that's not really how racing is.
This game oozes quality the realism sucks you in and somehow makes the racing more real, looking forward to this.
Freakin love it, love everything about this game. Did you notice the crunch of the gravel at the start of the video because he was off track on rocky dirt. Attention to detail at its finest.
Yep, that there folks is photorealism.
Here it is in Gif form: http://a.pomf.se/b1a2k.gif
Looks amaazing Im actually happy they didn't release this on launch day, the game is looking better and better everytime I see it, cant wait till next year.
I've got a feeling this game is the reason Infamous: Second Son now has a March release. They'll put a big marketing campaign behind this in February and push it hard, leaving Infamous: Second Son to push for PS4 sales in March. It's a smart move and one that I believe will reap rewards. Christmas is a given for the PS4, but next year the Sony PR and advertising machine with turn it up a notch further and push the sales momentum even harder. Many people are expecting some of the bigger studios to release their games in early 2015 but they're forgetting that Cerney himself has already said the PS4 takes at least a year off development time. This year is all about the PS enthusiasts and the hardcore, but next year will be about sweeping that net ever wider and catching the more core to casual market, as well as cementing the hardcore market. Expect a PS4/Vita bundle next year too.
Once has to wonder, why waste all the PS4 uber power for bazillions of trees and their resp. shadows ? At some point you have to decide if that is going to be the big difference in old vs new tech. To me it´s clearly a no, unless i can stop and make screenshot while in photo mode...... I really do hope this on PS4 retail and not on a dev-kit with few more resources avaib. Question is did they really need to postpone this game ? Not sure about that anymore... same with Watch Dogs which looked okay to me.
@thisismyaccount: You're asking for devs to make last gen games in 1080p ... No thanks.
this post is missing the driveclub tag
This.. game.. I want this game.. NOOOOOOOOOOW
My guess is February. It would be wise for Sony to have 1 - 2 big title per month, backed by multiplats, F2P, PS+, and indie games to get a solid selection of games to choose from each month. Feb: Drive Club March: inFAMOUS and MLB April: Watch Dogs "exclusive content" May: Destiny "exclusive content" June: Gaikai / E3 July: MGS: Ground Zero (MGS4 I believe released in July) Aug: ????? Sep: The Order Oct: ????? Nov: Uncharted ;D Dec: GT6 PS4 Good year, and Sony said expect 20 exclusives 12 of which are New IP's, so there's more gaps to be filled. Great first year.
I'm pretty sure Polyphony said no GT6 on PS4, but instead GT7. Otherwise, awesome list, and it's only going to grow post VGA's and as time moves on.
@DialgaMarine Just read it ;( Well something has to go there. Can I get a Last Guardian :D
the moment when you realize that F5 looks current gen!
Sorry, but yes. What is it doing that pushes it into next gen territory? It's STILL using static environments, baked lighting, painted skies, and no day/night cycle to achieve 60fps. "Oh look, shiny! Next gen!" There is nothing next gen about Forza 5. Turn 10 even knows this, seeing how they've never commented on the game's tech.
Care to explain what exactly puts Forza 5 in the next gen leagues, considering it's already been compared to GT6, and the only reason it's even able to do 1080p 60 FPS is because of the XBone cloud.
The only people comparing Forza 5 to GT6, are the sony fanboys that really want the Microsoft game to fail, yet haven't actually played it. Everyone that HAS played it, and all the previews, are saying how good it is and praising its graphics. Pre-rendered CGI GT6 trailers don't make the game equal to a REAL next-gen game, sorry fanboys. What makes Forza next-gen is 1080P and 60FPS, along with very high detail in the car models. I'm sure if they only had to push 30FPS, like Driveclub, that they could afford to put in some moving clouds and rain or whatever it is you guys cry about. I'm an xbox fan, but I can appreciate Driveclub and think it looks good. Enemy - all you do is spout garbage and bash the One and its games. If you love the PS4 so much, then why the fuck aren't you actually playing it instead of trolling xbox articles? Did you get bored of knack already or is the psn still down???
@ ambientFLIER You do know that you can switch to the web browser mid-game on PS4, you can go to N4G and comment in between games. Play games, then go and comment on games. Even then, did you think that Enemy might not be in a territory that PS4 is available yet, or that he hadn't pre-ordered a console in time to get for the US launch? - Your comment about Forza 5 wasn't really any clarification. GT6 is 1080p, 60fps and very high detail in its car models, and has many more features than F5 does. Even Drivatar can't make up for the severe lack of content and features in comparison to previous Forza games. http://www.youtube.com/watc... DriveClub is actively pushing for 60fps with all the dynamic systems it has in place, and already looks more photorealistic than F5.
GT6 is NOT 1920x1080. You guys love bringing that up, but it's 1440x1080. Not true 1080P. And it's only 60fps SOMETIMES, as multiple previews have noticed the frame drops, and it sometimes goes to under 30fps, depending on the load. And finally, the car models in GT6 are highly detailed, yes, but they don't touch Forza's models. Forza 5 is a launch game and already looks this good, and GT6 is a result of Polyphony optimizing the hell out of the console for 7 years. Give Turn Ten seven years with the Xbox One hardware and see what they come up with...Forza 2 looked good at launch of the 360, but Forza 4 blows it out of the water... Here is a comparison. Notice how the Forza cars look better and more realistic than GT6?? http://www.dualshockers.com... Look at this GT6 shot... http://cdn2.dualshockers.co... It looks like a PS2 game there! Let's look at Forza 5 in motion... http://cdn.dualshockers.com... Yep, next-gen confirmed...
Agree. You'd expect Forza 5 to blow GT6 away, but it doesn't. In fact, it's difficult to tell exactly what qualifies Forza 5 a next gen game. Plus, on top of that, the content is slim and any they plan to nickel and dime fans with DLC. That guff about the cloud is laughable.
Look excellent. This is one of my most anticipated titles.
HOLY SH------- Them birds. That sunlight. In a previous video, it was the window screen cracking. This game is so damn dynamic, and so damn pretty!!!!!
Oh my the environment is so alive.... Absolutely awesome :D Dat sky & sun... Hot damn this game is going to be glorious Edit - "The sky impacts on the gameplay though, as it affects visibility. And each time you race it'll be different each time too." - Rushy http://www.neogaf.com/forum... Can't wait for the direct footage hosted on gamersyde. Plz come soon :p
It looks pretty enough but it's not very realistic. I'm Scottish and I have never seen that big bright thing they've got in the sky.
Yeah. I've seen it in pictures. They call it the "Sun". Comes out every day or so supposedly.
They really need to show more than 10 seconds of that game...
They were going to release a full track video 2 weeks ago but for some reason it never happened.
It is an absolutely stunning game
A lot of people say all that stuff in the background doesn't matter, but it absolutely does increase the level of immersion in a game like this. (The ironic thing is that those same people praised Forza's tracks while downing GT's tracks for the lack of detail and such.)
Yeah, totally agree. That's part of the reason this game is grabbing my attention. It's also helping to differentiate it from the competition.
PS4 has done it, it has made me excited to buy new games again.
I'm normally not pumped about any racing games, but THIS and bugbears new game are awesome! Totally gonna get both.
I can't wait for this game I wish it could have made it for launch but I know it will be worth it at the end
Forza 5 is last gen
I like. By than I will have my PS4!!!!!
Looking forward to both Forza and Driveclub. Both look pretty damn good.
