Gamer 2.0: Gears of War 2 Preview

"All around me are familiar places, worn out faces…" Everyone who hasn't lived under a rock for the past two years has no doubt seen the breathtaking "Mad World" commercial of the groundbreaking title, Gears of War. With one of the best teasers in the business and the game going on to sell millions, how could Epic continue the success that the first game cemented on the Xbox 360?

While the first trailer of Gears of War 2 leaves much to be desired, hopefully Gamer 2.0 can shed some light on some of the most important factors people have been wondering about.

The story is too old to be commented.

As a PC gamer, i liked the first one... waiting for the second one on the PC. Maybe in 2009.

Yeah, the PC one looks a hell of a lot better and has more levels. The only thing that sucks is you have to play it on $hitty Xbox Live P2P networking! And of course, then you have to pay for XBL.

I feel sorry for ppl who wasted 400$+ buying a 360 when they could have just upgraded their PC and still play all the best Xbox games(Mass Effect, Halo, Bioshock, Gears, etc.) but with more features. Not to mention, if you already have a decent setup and you upgrade it you can smoke a 360 with 400$.

Of course, its nice to have a console so you can play on a big screen and a lot of ppl don't have PC's so they are pretty much forced to buy an Xbox if they want to play.

You know... the world doesn't revolve around exclusives... some people actually enjoy playing other games on a big screen with friends in a local match as well.

That completely defeats the purpose of owning one console over another if none of the exclusives are in fact exclusive.

If all you care about is multi-platform games than it doesn't matter what console you own, but I care about how unique that console experience will be.

But to say exclusives don't matter is just flat out wrong. There are great games on both systems I like playing. It makes more sense, for me at least, to own a PS3 and just get the 360 titles on my PC. W/ PS3 you can't play their titles anywhere else (Resistance, Warhawk, Drakes Fortune, Motorstorm, etc.)

I like having options. Many times some games are bound to be somewhat better on one system than the other, and that gives me the option to get the most out of my game. Imagine if an exclusive title had some kind of a bug that was just too annoying... sometimes such bugs don't go multiplatform. The Orange Box is a good example apparenlty.

I don't care what console I'm playing on as long as I have fun :D
