Killzone: Shadowfall Review | Escapist

"If you're a Killzone fan, you're likely going to love Shadow Fall and get everything you expect from it. A more elegant narrative campaign and a richer multiplayer experience are offset by some odd artistic decisions and a number of strangely dull elements, but overall, this is a quality shooter that delivers what Killzone players have come to expect."

im a killzone fan just as i am a halo fan. there is more to the games than the pretty graphics. for me its about the story and the way its presented.

I have no doubts I will be entertained with SF but i have to ask...is this the KZ4 we have been waiting for or will there be a real game called KZ4?

with a subname like Shadow Fall makes me wonder if this is like what halo did with ODST and Reach. Games within the realm of the series but not directly correlated to the main titles.

pretty sure its a subgame. ill be damned if there isnt a KZ4. but i do wanna say that KZ will get average to good to mixed reviews, and thats a good thing. its not everyones cup of tea and id rather it drawn in quality gamers than a crap load of casuals like cod or halo. Kz is for the hardcore, its brutal, challenging etc. KZSF will be an Ace of a game for the fans and should be cool for the newcomer.

I think it could be a set up to Killzone 4. It is in a way a reboot of the series considering the 30 year time jump. I can't say for sure obviously but I hope we do see a KZ4.

I wish people would read these reviews and not worry so much about the score. Most reviewers have a lot of praise, but reduce the score for things it just didn't get right. It is however, a launch title. We've been spoiled for 5 years with top knotch 2 and 3 gen titles for PS3, it that is not the norm at launch. KZ is a good. Ore shooter, but you are not going to get that here is something new warm and fuzzy.

I'm excited to try Killzone out. I'm new to the series and I figured I'd jump in now. The reviews are pretty mixed, so I think it'll be a blast to see if I like it or not.

I on the other hand loved Killzone 2. It really raised the bar in enemy A.I of FPS and the weighted feel gave the game a nice signature so you don't feel as if you are just a floating gun. I suggest you start old-school with the first Killzone with the KZ Trilogy.

The first installment had the absolute best story and characters in the series while Killzone 2 had the best gameplay and antagonist. Killzone 3 had promise but tried too hard to appeal outside it's fanbase losing some of it's greatest strengths. However, it gave us Operations Mode which was my favourite multiplayer option in the series but sadly missing in Killzone: Shadowfall.

I hope one of the upcoming entries be well-balanced in all aspects from their predecessors.
