Killzone: Shadow Fall Review | The Review Portal

It must have seemed impossible at the time when Sony contacted Guerrilla and asked them to work on a sequel to Killzone 3 on PlayStation 4. They were given two years and a fairly modest budget of just under £30 million (modest compared other massive projects that is). Given these circumstances Shadow Fall comes across as a masterpiece. It’s also easy to understand why this game isn’t called Killzone 4, as Shadow Fall feels very much like a spin-off that has little in common with its predecessors other than the glowing eyes of the Helghast. (Killzone: Shadow Fall, PS4) 80/100

I don't give a crap about reviews. I read them to see others peoples opinions but that is just that. I live in Canada and I loved The Last of us single player. But when it came to multiplayer I couldn't even get 1 bar. The multiplayer is good in TLOU. I know how everything works. The maps and i think it works for the people who have a good connection. But even a game that got high ratings like TLOU will get judged person by person as you play it.

One thing humans do naturally even if your not trying to do it is criticize things. It's a natural thing to do. I've played through so many games and each one of them I like and I don't like.

How did it get that way? Why do I boot up far cry 3 and not play through TLOU again and again? Because I've judged it and in my mind Far Cry 3 is more amusing. Random encounters happening around me while I travel from x to y.

It doesn't matter who your asking. Everyone has that favorite game. If it's highly rated and it doesn't play well do you think I'm going to go back to it? I'll call bs all day long.

But when a game is lowly rated and I think that the reviewers are just biased and the game plays just fine I'll boot it up anyday.

So in the last 30 seconds, I have seen a 2/5 a 3/5 and a 4/5. Why is there no cohesion among any of the reviews.

Woaaaah, any need for that? He just said he only cares about his own judgement. No need to call him a damn sheep.

"i was gonna get a ps4 tomorrow but ugh"

No you weren't. You aren't fooling anyone.

@bomboclaat

So, you're telling me that you had one pre-ordered and now you're canceling it based on reviews?

and who is the sheep?

Ya..exactly

@antibandit
I don't care about review scores. I am looking for information about the game I don't already know which is why I read these articles. But it's simple human physcology to know we judge everything unconciously or conciously which leads to future actions. It's like everytime you get a poutine the first thing I notice everytime is if it's full or not. I think either yay I'm getting my money worth it. If they keep filling it like that I'll keep coming back. But if they only fill it half way a bunch of times I'll go somewhere that gives me a full poutine everytime.

If anything people on the edge of buying the game it may sway them to not get the game. Besides that review scores really have no sway. It doesn't change the way the game plays or how much people enjoy it.

You're absolutely right because I personally dislike Halo. If I were a reviewer on Halo I'd likely mislead a lot of gamers. Sometimes you have to see things for yourself.

jacksjus  +   250d ago
It's not like I haven't been disappointed before. GOW Ascension broke my heart. I loved the series but that game was straight trash. The reviewers loved it by the way.
Lukas_Japonicus  +   250d ago
Why? Just because some reviewers didn't like it? If that's your logic then he should prepare to be pleasantly surprised based off the reviewers that DID like it, right?

Stop trolling.

You again? So after you completed the sp and put in many hours in to the mp, what would you score it?
ipach  +   250d ago
thoughtful and well written review. killzone will have to serve its role as the eye candy appetizer for the real meat and potatoes to come from the likes of naughty dog and santa monica (or even sucker punch and ready at dawn...). and sweet gorgeous eye candy it is. but alas, just candy...

"Couldn't care less." Yet here you are in the comment section of a review article..
Neonridr  +   250d ago
I love how suddenly an 8/10 is an insult and clearly they are biased. 8/10 is still a good score people. Clearly they are saying that the game is definitely worth playing, but it's not perfect. Simple fact, most games aren't.

Go play it, and enjoy it for yourselves.

I still cannot get my head around the Polygon 5/10. Seemingly the reviewer went on record for not liking the franchise anyway before the review. So why did he review it? What's the point other than to reinforce your. View on others that this is something to be hated?
