The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer clarifies previous maxing PS4 and Xbox One statement

yep you can never max a console game out so soon. It always has improvments after a few years and until the next gen.

you can never max out anything, but there isn't that much learning curve this gen as compared to others. What was true before isn't really true this time. Even with the last consoles, I never felt a big jump after Gears of War on 360 and uncharted on ps3.

What? If you look at gear of war 1 and then compare it to gears 3 It had a huge boost in graphics. Also look at killzone and uncharted.. they keep getting better and better

They got a little better, but it wasn't a huge difference. Killzone 2 was a good game, but it didn't amaze me visually. Now shadows fall looks really good to me, that's a big jump from current consoles.

Awesome, they are going from PC first and then porting to consoles. This should net some amazing results.

And thats how it always should be. That way, everyone is happy, gets the best possible version that their hardware can handle, and the industry progresses. But sadly with most multiplatform games they develop it at the standards of the console hardware, and what do we get? Stagnation.

I agree, honestly with all the madness of the next consoles launching and some of the PC master race guys damning them, they should realize that the console releases is opening the floodgate for better PC multiplatform games. If developers kept trying to make PC games fit in vision with the PS3/360, my lord we'll never move on.

this gen consoles are pcs.

"Awesome, they are going from PC first and then porting to consoles. This should net some amazing results. "

That's what frustrated PC gamers for years with the PS3 and 360. It's the very thing they've been saying for years only t be accused as entitled elitists. They have to wait and play with games that doesn't push their PC as they should be. It's not mere elitism when they asked for multiplatform games to be made for the PC first and then adapted to the consoles since its much more efficient.

The next gen consoles practically embraced this mentality by using the PC architecture.

Consoles have been holding back game quality (graphics wise) for years. Finally devs can make games look decent so us PC players can experience 2013 graphics instead of 2007 graphics.

Expect every 3 years or so for each too push the boundary in a noticeable way... I remember Riddick on original Xbox.... Could have passed as an 360 game....

Quick, call the Fire Department, someone got burned.

You forgot to mention that there was no trailing period to end the sentence.

I am really looking forward to this game. It is the only multi-platform game (I can think of) that is leaving the old consoles in the dust. With this game being PC & next gen only, we are going to see things that simply wouldn't be possible on existing consoles. With what we have seen so far, I wouldn't be surprised in CDPR took this new generation by storm.
