Sony's Giant List Of Video Games

Kotaku: This afternoon at the big PS4 event in Manhattan, I chatted with Sony's Adam Boyes about what the folks behind PlayStation have planned for the future. Boyes is in charge of third-party publisher and developer relations, which means it's his job to interact with all the non-Sony companies that make games for Sony's platforms. He's the one who worked with the folks at Gearbox to get their shooter Borderlands 2 on Vita. And now he's promising more—and teasing good news for people who are into Japanese games.

The story is too old to be commented.

"On that list is a ton of names that Sony has been compiling based on fan tweets and requests for three months now. Final Fantasy Type-0 is on there. So is Yakuza. And Shenmue. And many, many others, compiled when Sony's Giovanni Corsi started asking fans to submit requests.

Sony's goal: to bring as many of those games as possible to PlayStation platforms and, if they were never released outside of Japan, to bring those games West."

....Nothing more needs to be said.

The fact that they are publicly stating they are looking into bringing *some* of these titles to PlayStation platforms...says a lot and further sells me on the PlayStation brand.

Well said sir. PlayStation dominance has returned.
Just check out the top 20 selling video game items on amazon right now and 17 or 18 out of 20 is a ps4 product.

Im a playstation fan but, that statement is kind of skewed. The reason that playstation related items are monopolizing the top 20 is because A new product is about to release and people are excited. Now if this were the case when the xbone releases then you can say that this is the return of playstation dominance.

The Xbox One is releasing roughly a week after the PS4, that's close enough, retail-wise, that there should be an equal number of Xbox One games and accessories on that top 20 list.

If the X1 was releasing 1+ months later, then yes, I could see your point, but we're talking a week...with the amount of money being spent, a week, generally speaking, isn't enough time to save up for an X1 + games.

"I would say in the next year's time, if you're a fan of Japanese games, if you're a fan of Vita, then hopefully we'll have a little treat for you."

My personal favourite line!

So many great games are getting localised. This localisation team thing was an awesome idea.

Can't wait to see what else is coming over! God Eater 2 I hope

Good on Sony.
I was never the biggest fan of theirs, admittedly. Grew up a Super Nintendo, then an N64 kid and then was strictly xbox from the original to the 360 (owned a PS2, though only owned a few select titles).
That said, as of the last three years or so, they really cemented themselves as the go-to for my console experience.
While I am primarily a PC gamer at this point, PS4 is high on my list and I will definitely be grabbing one soon enough.

They are for the gamers.
There's no doubting that.

Quite a misleading title.. where's the list? I love Sony, but I'm feeling quite neglected as a Vita owner.. I'm hopeful that the popularity of the PS4 will drive Vita sales and we'll see more games for Vita.. I'm satisfied with what we've got now, but I'd like to see inFamous, God of War and some more of the flagships on this great portable machine.
