During an earnings call today, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed that Rayman Legends will be available for next-gen consoles in February.
I hope next gen they do Rayman 4 A 3D platforming game like Rayman 3...it would be amazing :)
I really hope they go back to 3D platforming as well. I'm not a huge fan of 2D. Rayman Legends still is a great game though.
Same It's pretty and I appreciate how people like it but I'd rather see there talents going into making Rayman 4. I mean in my opinion Legends just seemed like a HD upgrade of the first one with a few new improvements here and there. If they continue doing these games they are going to end up loosing it's spark and get stale so they should switch no and then between this series and the 3D ones.
Ubisoft, I have 3 words: Kung Foot Online That is all.
PLEase add online support!
Unless they add extra features this is a complete waste. The game was already 1080p/60fps on Wii U, PS3 and 360. Without any bonus levels it's going to be the exact same experience. The same experience that saw sales way under their expectations. So much that the Wii U ended up selling the most copies. Not to mention the install base of both the PS4 and XB1 by February will only be max 2 million each, most of which owned a PS3 and/or X360. The same people that probably passed on Legends the first time. Shame really, because the game is fantastic. So I guess if it gives some extra people a chance to try it out, then so be it. Perhaps with a post launch library drought this game will get a bit more attention on the next gen systems.
Sony expects to sell 3m by the end of 2013
They have plans to sell 5 million by the end of March. Console launches traditionally only have about 1 million units available day one. They would be hard pressed to move 3 million by the end of the year.
I'd like to see Ubisoft implement the touch pad to control the secondary character. That would be a welcome addition.
I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY!!! YEEEESSSS! Wish it was online:(
Got it for the Vita... maybe I can double-dip for the co-op
Awesome! Can't wait to finally get it. :) They should do the Wii U's functionality on the PS4 with the Vita.
touchpad should facilitate that
I hope they add this game to the upgrade plan and get it for a £10 etc
Yes excellent news. I knew holding out for a PS4 version was the right thing to do.
as long as it's bundled with Rayman Origins and all DLC I'd get it. I'd also like a game like this to support higher resolutions then 1080p. I know it can be done because it was 1080p on the PS3 but knowing Ubisoft they might make it a strait port to cut costs:(
how many people out there have a 4KTV? They would have to spend a lot of time developing assets so that .1% of the gaming population could take advantage of that? I am smelling straight port with the possibility of a few new levels to sweeten the deal, otherwise why get the game at all when you can get it on current gen for cheaper?
A lot of People didn't have full HD TVs when the PS3 released but SONY stilled tried releasing games at 1080p anyways to differentiate from the competition and be more future proof! Plus there the front runners of 4k right now so it would make sense? EDIT: I'd say in about 2 years it will become mainstream! But again it was the same scenario with the PS3 and now over half the population in the US has one! Remember that Gran Turismo 5 4k demo they showed running on 8 PS3? Well the PS4 is roughly 8x more powerful so theoretically it can run GT5 or GT6 in 4k!
@johny5 - I agree with you on that, but when can you expect 4KTV's to be mainstream in your house? Let's say best case scenario 1-2 years time. You think Ubisoft is going to put all this effort into art assets and such so that 1-2 years down the road people can appreciate it? Why wouldn't they just incorporate it on their next Rayman release which will most likely be somewhere in between?
what's funny, if it's a new game, it'll skip the WiiU even tho it sold the most on that platform out of them all...smh
