Already downloaded the Patch on my Flashdrive so I'm good and you would need internet to use the browser anyway so not a problem.

Should consider getting it again post launch considering the trouble that XB1 owner had with downloading an early version of that patch.

famoussasjohn1773d ago

The XB1 dashboard is still in a closed beta and is receiving daily patches and updates to get it all ready for launch. The guy who got his console banned was because he's not part of the closed beta for obvious reasons, and was only able to download the available then and can't download any updates until the ban is lifted on launch day.

Godmars2901773d ago

Not seeing how that doesn't rule out any last minute changes or revisions Sony may have to do with their patch. Should at least check the version to make use you're up to date.

Better safe than sorry.

I also got the patch and the restore (just in case). Credit to N4G user BadleyPackedKeebab,

Either way the patch will likely be available for direct download via the PlayStation site as always. So as long as one has an internet connection, and a thumb drive, then one can get it from there (if the PSN is swamped day one).

I'm pretty sure if you can read this article, you will be just fine... And if you don't have internet (not to be inconsiderate), you won't be missing too much as it seems the update mainly focuses on the online functionality of the console.

LordofPwn1773d ago

Um... that patch is a mislabeled v1.0, not the 1.5 day one... Some hackers pulled the update file apart and saw that it was mislabeled.

Skate-AK1773d ago

I have read in another article that the update they released isn't the Day One update.

well that's still better than xbox one without the patch you cant even play offline its a giant paperweight

italiangamer1773d ago

Well it's obvious that if you don't have the ps4 connected to the internet you can't use the browser, so no problem here :)

MidnytRain1773d ago (Edited 1773d ago )

I love how they're tossing in standard features with a past minute patch. Not that anyone preferred the atrocity of a browser on the last system. Does anyone know if this one is any better?

andibandit1773d ago

Anyone know if it will support flash, i know its being discontinued, but alot of aites still use it instead of html5
