Adam from Awesome Games writes: 'When Nintendo first announced the 2DS, the gaming world burst into a chorus of condescending laughter. A tirade of putrid comments and know-it-all naysayers swarmed the message boards, denouncing the Kyoto-based company as one that had – as far as they were concerned – completely lost the plot.
Most of the criticism was aimed at the 2DS’ polarising “slate” design and the removal of the glasses-free 3D feature. Some took it as Nintendo waving the white flag, admitting that the 3D aspect of their popular handheld was now superfluous and by some twisted logic, a failure – despite ever increasing sales.
But who’s laughing now?'
