Video games are usually portrayed in the media as bad influence on the youth. Aaron Ochs, like many children, found entertainment and strength in video games.
Pole Position and Pac Man were important parts of mine..... I think everyone who games can pick out 2 (or more) games that were important to their childhood.
Mortal Kombat 3, Donkey Kong Country 1+2, Half Life, and Counter Strike were games that changed me. They are the games that made me fall in love with gaming and I wish I could go back to these years and restart my life from one of those checkpoints.
Oh man, the original half life was a serious game changer. Never in a game before had i felt a gameplay connection with the main character like that one. you almost felt like you were gordon freeman walking the halls of the black mesa facility. Maybe it was the lack of ambient music or the creepy atmosphere. All i know was the first time turning a corner and walking up to the window to see the secret agent man looking back at me was startling.
Yeah, 92 was a good year, I remember Street fighter 2, especially when it was released on July of 92 on the Super Nintendo. That's when Mortal Kombat was in the arcades around that time too. Then that was released on game consoles on September 1993. Everyone should remember Mortal Monday.
