Leading haptics firm Immersion Corp., which provides the rumble in Sony's DualShock 3, has appointed a TiVo exec to serve as its new CEO.
Immersion Corporation, the company that owns a whole host of force feedback patents and finally settled its litigation with Sony last year (enabling Sony to go ahead and bring back rumble in the DualShock 3), has announced the appointment of a new CEO. Former TiVo exec Clent Richardson becomes Immersion's new president and CEO, effective April 28, 2008.
He replaces Vic Viegas, who will remain with the company as chairman. Immersion said that it expects Richardson to also be appointed to the Company's Board of Directors at its next board meeting.
