Wii U is Coming to Brazil But Will Cost Over $800

Nintendo has announced that the Wii U will finally come to Brazil on November 26th, included in the 32GB bundle with New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Luigi U. The catch? The bundle will cost over 800 USD. (Industry, Nintendo, Wii U)

Why is this news? Did people suddenly forgot how to calculate exchange rates?

Prices for American goods generally have tended to be 2 to 5 times as higher in Brazil.

Of course its obvious that this was posted for negative, and intentionally misleading purposes. Their goal is simply to show off the huge numbee relative to what is common here and wait for the ignorant ones who cars nothing for facts and reality(the typical fanboys who actually use dualshockers.com) to come bash Nintendo believing Nintendo has done something wrong.

I was thinking the same thing lol obviously its going to be brazil's equivalent to the states $400.00 or w/e the wii u retails for over here.

It was posted because it was relative, just like how we reported on the PS4 being super expensive in Brazil before (or did you conveniently forget about that?). How people take it is up to them.

But if you want to keep believing in your completely inaccurate and worthless assumptions, go right ahead.

I don't follow PS4 or any Sony news.

Unlike Sony fans, PC gamers and Nintendo gamers don't stalk news about their rivals to bash them whenever something negative comes up or to kick dirt up and boast about their console when something good happens.

If I don't care about a console, then why would I be following and commenting on news for it?

Usually prices come here to Brazil between 1.5 and 2.5x more expensive than in US. Even Mac and Sony products (that are usually overpriced).

Now, the WiiU is costing considerably more. And the PS4 price is something completely out of reality.

With Brazil being the next big global super-power I'm surprised everything is so bloody expensive over there. I'd hate to be a Brazilian gamer.

It's pretty hard having to buy a 3DS Game(Pokemon Y) for R$140,00- Approximately 70 Dollars.

Mine was R$150, bro. Wii U games aren't looking promissing as well, official price ranges from R$180~R$200, that's almost US$100!

It's not Microsonyntendo that's responsible for this... it's that dodgy government... I swear it's run by banksters.
