What makes a game worth bingeing on?

What are the qualities that make a videogame worth spending 3 sleepless days and nights on? MWEB GameZone writer, Stephanie Duchenne, takes a look.

The story is too old to be commented.

I agree with the quality of storyline, then being able to connect to the characters and able to connect to the mission - it must matter. Therefore, Mass Effect series. On the other hand, I've played few games the way I played GRID and NFS - I got blisters on my hands from playing so long without taking a break

it makes you feel - like a prince/princess; powerful; in control; like you're a winner; that you can cope; that you're making a visible, measurable difference; liek you're being someone or something that you normally could not be.

All these and more.

Thanks Fallout Series and EVE Online!

If a game is immersive then I tend to binge to the point where I eventually get sick of it and don't play it for a long time after.

Last game I really binged on was Minecraft back in about 2009. I binged on that so hard that I didn't play it for 2 or 3 years.

Also binged on Burnout games, mainly Paradise.

I find RPG's are easier to binge on than other games - but they have to be really good / immersive and have a great story. I usually binge on Disgaea games, but the last proper RPG I got very immersed in was Blue Dragon.
