First next-gen game review! Can't believe it is already here.

First? Pretty much all major outlets have published their reviews. I can believe it's here, it was only a year ago when we saw the last one.

I didn't mean that this particular article was world's first, but that CoD Ghosts is the first next-gen title to be reviewed.

Actually Assassins Creed 4 and Battlefield 4 was.

Foolsjoker1686d ago

I believe those were played on current gen consoles, but I could be mistaken.

Nope. There were a few sites that reviewed the PS4 versions. Kotaku did ACIV on PS4 I believe, and I know Eurogamer did BF4 on PS4. There's more out there, just don't remember off the top of my head.

Eurogamer reviewed the 360 version of Battlefield 4.

"We've only played the Xbox 360 version, but it's fair to say that it just can't cope."

Kotaku reviewed the PS3 version of ACIV

"It's a marvelous-looking game, on both current-generation systems (I reviewed the PS3 version) and on next-gen consoles."

I think you should look again.

It wasn't Kotaku, it was Edge. Sorry about that.

There's two PS4 reviews. Doing a quick Google search and you can find more.

I did, and I don't see where they say they completed the PS4/XBO version. At most, all I see is a 'tested' at best to justify mislabeling a review. Is there something I am missing?

xPhearR3dx1685d ago

Some sites say completed, some sites say used, some sites say tested. Those two sites particular use "Version Tested". If you go to their ACIV review it says "Version Tested: PS3".

Foolsjoker1685d ago (Edited 1685d ago )

If 'tested' meant beat or completed then fine, but that is an odd word to use. As many people have 'tested' out AC4 at events, but that doesn't mean they should review the complete product. Just seems like an odd way of specifying what version they played through a game on.

P.S. Yes, I do believe a game needs to be completed, or at least the story needs to be completed, before reviewing it.

Fair review. Can't wait for my PS4 version of this game.
