did u try clicking the picture to enlarge it?

RaikRhythm3824d ago

The article's been fixed; the images are normal size now.

CanadianTurtle3824d ago

I'm really disappointed that this isn't on the 360. Does anyone know if this is just a timed exclusive on the PS3 and will be making it's way to the 360 sometime soon?

Rockefellow3824d ago

It's only on PS3, period. The game was originally released on PS2 in Japan (as well as Gamecube, of course), so they just gave it the typical HD treatment with the resolution and general textures for its 10th anniversary.

It's being localized here for the diehard fans, not really for a wide release, and since it was only on PS3 in Japan, they wouldn't bother going through the effort to make a whole different version for another console. I feel your pain, though-- I'd have liked it on the Wii U, but we all know that would never happen either.

quinten4883824d ago (Edited 3824d ago )

Its never gonna come to Xbox bud.

DCfan3824d ago

The producer stated that most fans are on PS platforms, and he wouldn't bother reaching other platforms. Probably Vesperia's sales didn't please Namco so they shifted their focus entirely on the PS3.

Inception3824d ago

@canadian turtle

Tales of Vesperia doesn't sell in X360. Only 33k in the west and 200k in japan. And like DCfan said, the producer of Tales series -Hideo Baba- decided that PS platform still the best platform for Tales series.

But you should know, in this 3 years, if you want JRPG on HD console than the 1st platform you should choose is PS3.

Already beaten both originals on GC and Wii. Don't need. Rather get Xillia 2.

fenome3824d ago

Nice! I didn't know we were gettin' these in HD in the west! Stoked, can't wait to try 'em out!

Trying to make JP games like western games has been the slow death of JP games in the west. Games like Ace Combat AH, RE4-6, SH:Homecoming, Castlevania LoS 1&2,FF13 series are mostly pure mockeries of the franchises they came from (even the games that were technically good for their own reasons like RE4&5 and LoS). If they just stopped trying to make games that they think everyone would like and make games that the people who actually buy their games would like they would be in a much better place. As someone who liked mostly JP games Ive seen just about all my favorite franchises bite the dust, and that f***ing sucks a**, BRO!

Featuring_Dante2970d ago

FF13 was a fantastic games. I wish more people would start thinking for themselves, instead of keeping up with the herd of other people's opinion.

Chaosdreams2970d ago

Oh believe me. When it comes to FF13, there is no herd of people with no thought. They all reached their conclusion individually. FF13 was and always will be, horrific.

WildArmed2970d ago

Ff13 LR was a fantastic game for sure.

Ff13 was ok until the post game, then the combat system really shined. The post game made me love FF13, when all paradigms are maxed, the game really shines.

I love my lightning + fang + vanille end game team.

Then FF13-2 happened, took the one thing I love about the game and butchered it. Took out all the flexibility of paradigm shifts by limiting the last slot to 3 monsters (and therefore 3 paradigms). You couldn't pull off the super awesome shifts like on FF13 because you'd have to waste a monster slot just to pull off triple sentinel stance and so on.

FF LR was very good. I've played and 100%'d (platinum) them all, but ff13 was very hard to tolerate until Grand pulse... While ff13-2 was overall most intolerable of the three.

With that said, I think tales has been fantastic. I love xillia, graces f, heart r, zeterila.

They never seem to disappoint in deliverin a statisfying jrpg experience

VsAssassin2970d ago

Eh, I played FF13 and forced myself to finish it. I'm not saying it's a bad game for everyone, but if the bulk of FF fans say it's not good, then it's mostly not good.

No to the Westernization of Japanese games. I say!

KentBenMei2969d ago

FF13 was a good game, it just was a terrible FF. Same for DmC. That was a good game, just not a good DMC. MGS 4 & 5 were good games, just not good MGS.

RE4, 5, & 6, Castlevania LoS, Silent Hill, hell, even Bomberman went that route once and arguably killed the series.

Westernization is a perfect way to ruin a series. Western games are good on their own, they don't need to assimilate everything else and I want some variety, damn it.

What I would like to see is
- Seamless instant transition from exploring to combat when you run into an enemy
- NO battle summary screen after each battle is won (They should adopt a similiar system like in Star Ocean V there is a battle summary but it is displayed in the background while you continue exploring and playing)
- All dialogue has audio in it
- I largely disagree with most of the things in the article like the battle systems and including multiplayer with the game (one of the reasons I like JRPG is because there is no multiplayer) but I do agree that they should improve the camera

WildArmed2970d ago

MP if done right is fantastic.

Few of my fav MPs have been WKC and XCX over the past years. I had 2 thousand hours between WKC1 and 2.

I don't think you NEED Mp in JRPGs, ni no kuni was a shining example of that.

Eiyuuou2970d ago

I don't really care about the battle summary, but the victory mini-skits are a must!

Hoffmann2970d ago

The Tales series isnt broken.

WildArmed2970d ago

If xillia 2 and Zeteria have anything to say, it's definitely this.

The games were very good, and am already looking forward to the next one!

Hoffmann2970d ago

I play the Tales of games since the first Playstation already. They were never games like Final Fantasy but definitely good games for many many hours.

wheresmymonkey2970d ago

They don't need to get the series back on track. It's been consistently brilliant for the last 20 odd years.

Kreisen2970d ago

My biggest gripe with Tales series are the protagonists. Every time i pick up of these games half my time i spend thinking about how stupid the guy im playing is.

But i guess thats the thing about JRPGs in general. In most western games YOU get to be the hero, the guy with the big sword and awesome abilities, the guy who everybody looks up to etc. Unlike in most JRPGs where everybody else has all the cool things and as the player you are just some silly child, the odd one out who is kinda just there for "reasons".
