Next-Gen.Biz reports that Comic book house Marvel Entertainment has appointed Ira Rubenstein to lead its newly launched Global Digital Media Group.
As executive vice president of the division, Rubenstein will oversee Marvel's digital distribution strategy across all media and platforms through digital video, animated content, mobile and casual games.
He joins the company having spent 12 years as executive vice president at Sony Pictures. During his tenure he was responsible for overseeing the division's digital production efforts, including casual and mobile games, taking properties like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! to mobile, PSP and PS3. Other mobile properties he oversaw included Spider-Man 2: The Hero Returns and Ratchet and Clank: Going Mobile.
