Proteus, recently released for the PS3/Vita, is a procedurally-generated sandbox exploration game with a gorgeous, brightly palleted pixel style, set within a third-dimension. With a focus on exploration and discovery, some would argue that Proteus is ‘pointless’, but pointless or not, it’s damned beautiful.
Limited Run Games has announced that Proteus will get a physical PS Vita release on January 18, 2019.
Because you deserve an upgrade.
Aaron at IGCritic writes "A somewhat little known and underappreciated first-person walking simulator, Ether One is a video game which places you in the mind of a dying patient as an “explorer” travelling through their memories whilst searching for the source of the problem."
PT is still my sentimental fave. To think it was just a proof of concept demo. Why'd I delete it
Proteus was too boring for me to handle. I did platinum Rapture though. Soma I will definitely try if it's free on PS+ one day. Read good things. Last I checked it was still a bit expensive though. Same thing kept me away from Gone Home 'til it was free on Plus. $19.99's a bit steep for walking simulators imo.
I'm surprised Everyones gone to the Rapture wasnt here.
Edit: wait, it is there
Why not call it exploration simulators, walking simulator sounds like a jab at something that's boring and uninteresting, stealth games= crawling simulators ?
After ten minutes I was so bored that I uninstalled it. At least I got it in a Humble Bundle deal.
It looks err....err....pointless??
Yeah I'm playing this on Vita and I have to say that while you may get some enjoyment out of it it is WAY overpriced at 10 dollars. 5 MAX is what it should cost.
I thought I was getting an experience like Noby Noby Boy where there will be funny random stuff happening on screen but its not even close to that.
if you get burned by Proteus get Noby Noby Boy and you'll feel better. Its 100 times superior at being an exploration game at half the price only costing 5 $.
