These Wii U Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Screenshots Look Very Pretty Indeed

By now, we're used to publishers being coy when it comes to showing off their Wii U versions of multiplatform games. More often than not, we won't actually get to see Wii U-specific footage or screenshots until the day of launch, when the community gets its hands on the game. Silence is deafening, as they say, and when a company withholds this kind of media, it's usually for a good reason: such as their port being something of a stinker.

Thankfully, that doesn't seem to be the case with Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag. These screenshots, uploaded by NeoGAF user Bizubani, were taken in-game using the Wii U's Home button, and uploaded via the console's Internet Browser. They show off some neat texture detail, and, seemingly, some impressive anti-aliasing results. (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Wii U)

Amazing graphics wow i'd say they equal ps4 easy all day long....

Apart from resolution, PS4 is at least 900p, it's really close from what I've seen too. Wii U is strutting its stuff!

Resolution won't make much difference either, not if the AA is as good as it seems. I still play Wii games at 480p, you quickly get used to it.

720p native is good enough for a multiplat port ps4 wouldn't have a higher resolution than wiiu if Sony didnt give ubi backhanders END OF.

The PS4 is native 1080p @ unflinching 30FPS,where did you get the 900p from?

And The WiiU version is using the tactics of the PS3/Xbox360 versions(blurring some areas to boost up FPS count) which isn't present in the PS4 video & the water effect of the PS4 version is superior.

The WiiU version does however have great textures not found in the PS3/Xbox360 versions.

@Studio-YaMi: I couldn't remember if the resolution had been confirmed to be 1080p or not, but that it was higher than 720p. So I just played it safe with a 900p or higher.

Still, it was expected that the Wii U wouldn't match next gen, but it's nice to see it separate itself from the current sister-systems.

Wii U up scales to 1080p, don't you use your Wii U to play your Wii games?

Pretty much from the 360 to PS4 the game looks the same beyond resolution.

Textures make a big difference from the screens and gameplay I've seen, then there's weather effects, pop-in and more advanced physics as well. But it does look good on all platforms.

Ok, so I basically agree with you and you turn into a blind fanboy. Sheesh. 720p with good AA looks great and the Wii U is good, but it's doesn't have the grunt to match the Ps4 or XO.

Looks brilliant! The textures and aa is beyond what we see on PS360, as we should expect from a more powerful gpu with a lot more memory at hand. Biggest difference from nextgen versions seem to be resolution, and that's not bad at all.

If I hadn't already pre-ordered it on PS4 as a replacement for Watch Dogs, I'd be interested in getting this version for gamepad features. Too bad about the lack of DLC support though.
