The evolution of COD multiplayer: Has it changed for the better?

Call of Duty has become a phenomenon. For better or for worse it is instantly recognisable, endlessly mimicked and rarely bettered; shooting people in the vital organs has never been enjoyed by so many, and what keeps the punters coming back title after title, year on year?

nope not in my opinion cod 2 was the best multiplayer experience ive had on the 360 bar none, no gimmicks perks etc etc. i must have lost days if not weeks of my life playing it i cant say that about an other game.

He meant CoD 2, not MW2 ( CoD 6 )

YES COD1 was Classic but COD2 fixed all issues and was a flawless battle of RAW player Skill and Tactics.

unlike COD today which is gimmicks, perks, LAG spikes, and other CRAP.

They added Lean so who knows maybe COD is going back to it's roots because people using Lean will GREATLY require gamers to think instead of MINDLESS running around blindly shooting and nade spamming.

Looking at those pictures, I would actually welcome a new WW2 game.

To me, the series just got worse as time went on. Mainly the multiplayer, it's never balanced anymore and there's always a cluster**** of gimmicks that further fuels how broken ___ weapon is or ____ killstreak is. Terrible map design, encouraging camping and their refusal to fix stupid stuff like the crappy netcode or the head-glitching really puts me off.

A shame, because I was a fan ever since the first game.

It was great with COD:4. The maps actually felt like teamwork/ tactics was needed. Since then it's just run and gun. No teamwork...nothing.
