Splatterhouse: First peek at the reinvented arcade horror hero

The developer behind the game is BottleRocket, who in various incarnations were responsible for the Sony PS2 hits Mark of Kri and Rise of the Kasai. Both of those games were attractive (they basically looked like a Disney film in terms of character design and animation) and -- belying the smooth graphics -- surprisingly violent. This made BottleRocket a solid choice to develop the revival of Namco Bandai's hyper-violent action series, which will arrive on both PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime around mid-2009.

The story is too old to be commented.

I still play this on my mac through an emulator, perfect way to pass the time during lectures in grad school, LOL.

The design of the character looks ok, kinda like Jason meets the Skinheads, should be interesting to see where they take this.

Tears of joy after seeing this anouncement as I loved the game back on the Sega Genesis (SplatterHouse 2 and 3). Long live to the desicion NAMCO. Anyone with a gamer sense better check what a good job the devs did with Mark of Kri and Rise of the Kasai. Two underrated games. FANS soon the father of the survival horror genre will arrive...WELCOME BACK SPLATERHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I played this game to the death in my local arcade as a kid. I can still remember the first boss... a haunted room with all the chairs n shizzle coming at you (I think). I will be keeping an close eye on this awesome game. Hope this is the start of a trend for developers, first this, then final fight, then....The world!!!!!

I play this emulation on my PSP .... welcome back to old school kids, and give props to the games that started the violence in video games revolution.
