"Final Fantasy XV and Lightning Returns prove the turn-based JRPG franchise we once knew is no more"

Exactly. They shouldn't even be called "Final Fantasy", and only are because SquareEnix is hoping existing fans are stupid enough to continue to buy the games based on nothing but the name on the cover.

The saddest part is, it'll probably work...

People will buy games they like. Some people actually liked FFXIII and it's sequels, I hated FFXIII so I didn't buy the Sequel and i'll see about LR. I don't care about the name of the game. Only if the game is good.

FFXV looks amazing anyway, every detail about the game sounds like it'll turn out amazing.

"this is a time and era of diversity. So there are differnet types of games"

This guy is clearly delusional, or just flat out lying. There has never been less diversity then there is in modern gaming. And, this new "Final Fantasy" series is a perfect example of that. It's a copy of every other game in today's market.
