PS4Home: Want to upgrade your PS4 hard drive? Here’s the guide

PS4Home: "Just imagine installing several 50 GB games, soon enough your entire hard drive is packed with data."

The story is too old to be commented.

Finally, I been waiting for this... Perfect timing too!

I know some of you think 500 is alredy to much... Is not. This gen starred with 60gb and it enden it with 500gb... Mark my words, in 4 years we will see ps4 bundles with 2tb. Yous my psplus alone goes to 500gb. The time to upgrade is as soon as you get it... Well thats what I think

Although it is possible to expand the XBO via external HDD, I do think that Sony's decision to enable internal user HDD upgrades gives it a leg up, even if only for bragging rights.

Will it make a difference in actual use?
Not sure.

Maybe I'm just missing something here, can someone elaborate on a couple of things?

When he says "...any standard SATA interface drive will be fully compatible with your PS4." does he mean you can just stick the new hard drive in right out of the box without any FAT 32 formatting crap like with the PS3?

Also, when he says, "Moreover, this also means that you’ll be able to throw in a nice solid state drive too, if you want."

Is a solid state drive really implementable? Hybrid or genuine?

Ur slightly mis-informed.
U can take a internal hdd right out of the box and stick it into the ps3 and works fine. I did it multiple times.

Fat32 is the type of drive u use for external hdd. If u don't want to reformat a external hdd and want to use it right out of the box, just buy a hdd that is already formatted w fat32.

Portable hdd are usually fat32.
