After reading the page with the features.. Could you do the voice command without the camera? It sound like all you need is the headphone with the mic? Anyone have more info on this

Holy shit really? WOW that's actually really awesome...I was going to get a PS Eye camera down the line for my younger brother who would enjoy it, but knowing that I can still use voice commands without it is awesome.

I've been saying all along that Kinect is just an input device. All it's input features are facilitated by the software in the game or console OS itself. For the most part everything the Kinect does can be done with a $5 webcam and a cheap $2 microphone.

The Kinect can process some information, but it just passes it along to the console to do something with it. The advantage of Kinect over a $5 webcam is that it can process transform information in real time so the software doesn't have to(not real-time), thus reducing lag.
