UGO writes: "Whatever your thoughts may be on Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, Midway's latest entry released back in 2006, it's hard to get past the impression that it may be time for some shiny newness. Armageddon featured 62 fighters - including nearly every character to appear in the series thus far - as well as a lengthy story mode, fighter and fatality creation tools, unlockables and even an outlandish kart-racing minigame. Other than the fact that the game only appeared on only one current-gen console - Nintendo's Wii - our biggest complaint against it is how far it's strayed from its 1v1 fighting roots.
Whether or not the abundance of features will be pared down for the coming installment in the series remains a mystery, but we are completely clear on two important facts. One: the next Mortal Kombat will be released for the graphically superior Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles. Two: it will pit series favorites against some of the most powerful forces in the DC Comics universe."
