Namco Bandai Games has released Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition for the PC and PS3 via Steam and PSN, and has issued the following batch of screenshots marking the same.
Ah...PC finally. I have fond memories of this game on my old Xbox 360, looking forward to tackling this again :-)
bought it on steam already! no brainer
I can't wait to see how it looks! :) One of my favorite stories this generation. Andy Serkis sells it!
It looks amazing on PC. You can play with the config files to get it even better!
This is one of those games I can't let go. I know the game is not perfect in any way from story to gameplay, but I guess what makes it special is the bond between the characters that develops throughout the game. If I'm not mistaken, the lead designer of Enslaved actually became a member of ND and even took part in The Last of Us project.
Yep, there's definitely some Enslaved DNA in The Last of Us. I think Enslaved is a very underrated game.
Here's my (ninja) thoery on the re-release: The developers are trying to reap a few more dollars in order to help fund their new game. Now it seems that the developers cant re-releas it without the publishers permission (Namco Bandai) which leads me to believe that NT have returned to NB to publish/help finance their next game which could either be a sequel to Enslaved (not a sequel to Heavenly Sword or DMC because they are different publishers), or a completely new IP (of which we saw little snippets from their promo trailer)
Ways something done to the game to improve the graphics? I bought this game for X360, and loved every minute of it... Definitely one of those sleeper success games (meaning, not very financially successful, but realllllly good in terms of story, etc...).
Don't know if I could handle improved graphics. Trip is already stupidly hot.
Keep seeing this game recommended for me around the 360 dashboard. I think it only got 7-8ish reviews, but I actually really liked Heavenly Sword so I should check it out some time. Think I'll pick this up on Steam and see what it's like cranked up to pretty mode :)
Bought it on PSN yesterday, kinda wish I'd gotten the PC version instead for better visuals. But I suppose buying it on PS3 means I'll spend more time playing the game rather than fiddling with options, as I tend to do on PC.
Does it still have framerate issues? The original release had a pretty bad framerate and I'm wondering if they did something to improve it. I'd probably buy it again if the problems are gone.
I never experienced any frame rate issues when I played this back in the day.
Nah, it's still a bit choppy at times. Especially in 3D. And it tears. Nothing gamebreaking, but still makes you wish for a bit more. I take back what I said about wanting PC version for visuals, I now want it for v-sync and a more stable framerate. Could be nice to get for a second playthrough.
One of the most underrated games of the generation! I just hope they atleast made the FMV clips higher quality. The 360 version was so compressed in certain parts that it looked like a low quality avi clip losing frames when the action got too intense.
i think this game was fun as hell to play the voice acting was great, story was interesting and the world is pretty damn cool. Edit: damn i thought there was a mac release.
