Hold on. Don't start sending hate mail to Sega just yet. Let's hear the man out.
A little hypocritical but i see his point.....but then i have to bring up the same argument that i use for other instances when someone says portraying killing/violence as fun is wrong....it's a videogame! GTA isn't a violence/crime instruction manual, its just a videogame, same with any other violent videogame. People who take videogames so seriously should question themselves on why they play them.
always quick to being first on the comment section
What's your point? Let me guess, do i need to "get a life"? That comment was 2 hours ago, btw. @georgenancy I apologise if i took what you said wrong. :) I thought there was malice in your comment, obviously not.
did you really have to pm me about me minding my own business?geez dude stop taking it so personally,i'm just stating what i've seen from previous posts/articles where most of the time, your comments are always first
why does him being first matter? lol who cares? comment away lukas :)
@Georgenancy I did ask "would you kindly" mind your own business. I never forget manners.
Get a room guys, the sexual tension is palpable.
And Yakuza fans hate the lack of localisation on Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 1+2 HD (had to put it on this article before someone else did lol)
Hopefully Yakuza Ishin got better treatment. I mean, playing as Saito Hajime / Shinsengumi is badass! But i'm crossing my fingers >.<
Reading the article, yea I see where he's coming from
I love the Yakuza games and the people that make this unique and insane series, but I disagree with Mr Nagoshi on this. I just see a game as a game, you're not killing or robbing anyone its all just fiction, but hey I'm not going to dislike the guy because he has a different opinion..... you never know he might've changed his mind since then as this article is based on a lecture held in 2011.
Yakuza series out-performs GTA series in every department. I completely agree with him. For the people complaining about violence: You don't go around in Yakuza beating the crap out of innocent folks. Plus, yakuza has better narration and story.
completely agree with you, and don't forget the heavy disgusting sexual contents and dialog in GTA games also, the characters "all of them" look really bad, they don't know how to design a good looking character
Love the Yakuza series, and like GTA as well. It's cool to get top brass developer feed back from the people who love their job. Here's hoping for more Yakuza translations, and GTA, to expand it's native narratives past the U.S.
What he hates most about GTA series is the money Take 2 makes selling 10's of millions. Sega/Sammy will be lucky if they are still in the video game selling business by the turn of the decade.
If it was the money, then the Yakuza formula, would've changed already to mimic GTAs success.
if they actually released more of their games outside japan, they'd probably be in a better position.
Yakuza 4 did come out in the U.S but the sales were disappointing to say the least. While in Japan Yakuza 4 was one of the PS3 best selling game that year. Any who Sega is the poster child on how not to run a video game company. Sega movie to licensed video games model is a joke, they blew hardware, after hardware with the 32X through the Dreamcast. Let me stop, I'm sounding like the hurt Sega fanboy I was back in the 90's, I mean I own the 32X and Sega Saturn at the same damn time.
He's bang on. I wish meathead gamers would realize how right he his. Yakuza as a series might be violent, but it treats death with a greater reverence, and refuses to allow it to be "fun."
OMG someone sees things for what they are. You ought to be insane in some people's books
Yakuza 5 > GTA5 all day, any day.
I agree with him 100%...
He still gonna get hate mail. This generation don't know how to be reasonable.
"What Yakuza's Producer Hates about GTA" It sells in the millions ?
