A few more PS4 titles were added to the pre-order section of the PlayStation Store, with some details popping up for them as well. - PSLS
Where does it mention 1080P in the original source? Or am I missing something? Edit - Found it, you actually have to go to the store to read it, never mind. https://store.sonyentertain...
You have to click on the game titles in the source...
"Video output in Full HD 1080p requires 1080p native display." Pretty much confirms it. I won't say much else, other than we should just wait til the games come out and see for ourselves what the differences are between Xbox One versions and PS4 versions. I'm sure the graphics analysts out there on the forums will dissect every nook and cranny. My personal opinion, there is a reason why developers wanted 8GB GDDR5 over 8GB DDR3, so there will probably be a technical difference between games. But to be honest, i am mostly interested in nextgen animations, nextgen AI, nextgen cloth, nextgen water etc etc. For me... it's not really that big of a deal if a singleplayer game is 30FPS or 60FPS. I truly hope Sony will show us Santa Monicas next project aswell as Naughtydogs.
Yay I got a 3d tv
It says it right in the story.
The story is not the original source though is it. Saying 1080p in brackets doesn't prove it, I was actually looking for confirmation to the claims.
Time to Pre-order Assassin Creed IV Black Flag for PS4 then.. -Going to get the Digital copy.. -since i just got a 1TB Drive for my PS4 - I'm really starting to like this option of getting games from the store, been on PSN Plus for just 3 months and I'm loving the free games.. 2014 looks like it's going to be an awesome time to be a gamer.. getting 10 bucks free is kinda sweet too because then I can just put that on dying light when that comes out. (which was another game I was going to be buying anyway) .____........___... .____||......||.......|___|| ||.........___||............ ||
First time I actually heard someone confirm 3D also. It hasn't been much 3D talk for the next gen consoles, I was starting to get worried.
I like the digital option, but being able to trade it in and get some value back is what ultimately steers back to the original method of just buying a disc. If I could somehow trade or get credit for a digital copy, I would probably buy it that way more often. I currently only use digital for one game, hockey. I know I will use it until the following years release and I know they only give about $4 once the new one is released.
Question: If I want to buy and download a digital copy of game X on launch, do I even have tp pre-order? I don't have to, right? On Topic: Really interesting to see the resolution confirmed for Ghosts on PS4 after the sh*tstorm on the internet the last 24+ hours - even more interesting that good looking games like BF4, AC4 and Killzone also will be native 1080p. Looking forward to playing all of them!!
Nice, I wonder what the resolution for the other next-gen console versions are (Xbox One/WiiU). I'm sure COD is 1080p across the board, so I'm more curious about ACIV
720p as usual.
You're attempting to spread corporate slave misinformation to the wrong guy. ;)
@Acesonall Yep I'm wondering as well. I'm sure you've heard the rumour that COD is 720p on Xbox One, find it hard to believe but we will soon know the truth I guess.
might wonna check up on your corporate misinformation facts again, considering youre the wrong guy to inform on some of these things and all.
Don't be butthurt. You tried to spread fanboy bs to us and you failed. Next time, don't even try.
More importantly... So is BF4!!!
Yeah. It's kinda weird that the headline mentions CoD but not BF4 which was rumored to run at 720p. Let's hope that Dice can confirm that it's running at 1080p native.
the feel of 1080p
Not to rain on everyone's parade but what's "important" is the native resolution. The game descriptions only say what it can be played at just like the majority of PS3 games. The box says 1080p but that doesn't mean it's the native res. That said, doesn't really matter to me. 1080, 900, 720, a good looking game looks good regardless. The Last of Us isn't 1080p native. I don't hear anyone complaining.
thats because TLOU was on PS3 not PS4 -.- ¨ EDIT; Also it says 1080p output
You're not doing yourself any favours. Practically every game on the PS3 outputs at 1080p. What it outputs at doesn't matter. But I'll play along. Titanfall isn't 1080p native and it looks great.
Actually I'm taking a look at my PS3 boxes, and most of them says "HD 720p", very few exceptions. The Last of US, God of War Ascension, Infamous Collection, Killzone Trilogy, Beyond Two Souls, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock Infinite... MGS4 says "supported formats" and then the list goes from 480p to 1080p
Yes, you are right. I just realised this after I started a thread on Gaff and got my ass handed to me on a plate lol.
The difference comes when you are being told that this is "Next-Gen" So you are paying "Next-Gen" price. When in reality it is not "Next-Gen" As a consumer this is False Advertising. We had enough of that in this current gen when we thought that was going to be a 1080p gen. It wasnt 100% 1080p only some titles did it. Point is You are paying full "Next-Gen" price for something that isnt really "Next-Gen"
So hang on, does that mean Ass Creed 4 runs at 1080p/120fps???
So is Assassin's Creed IV the first confirmed game with support for 3D on the PS4?
Yes, sadly. I can't believe Resogun is only in 2D. That's so weird.
Still good to know that i will be able to play on my 3d bravia with my ps4
Not sure if Ii can be relied on, cos BF4 info says max players is 24 which we all know is wrong, so they haven't got everything right, seems like theyre saying "if" this game runs at 1080p you need a 1080p TV Also is Knack 2 player cos it says it is .. good if true :)
Knack is 2 player. Same screen co-op. You get a roboty character like Knack or something like that.
The back of the Xbox 360 and PS3 boxes said 1080p too. I wouldn't trust that information. Native 1080p is not the same as upconverted from native 720p to 1080p. I would be very surprised if Ghosts is running at 1080p, since that game always aims for 60fps.
Exact. In the description they say: "output", not "native", so this new is useless
Glad to see 3D is being used still :D Glad I got this 43" 3DTV this year.
Nice, I was hoping there would be more 3D games now that the resolution doesn't have to be compromised to play them. AC4 should look awesome in 3D.
It makes me wonder how many people that bitch about games that are only available in 720p have TV's smaller than 50" and cant realistically tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. Wait and see people freak out when X1 confirms that Ghosts and Titanfall are only 720p.
It really depends on how close you sit to your TV. I have a 55" TV and I sit about 8' away from the TV so for me it is worth it. But if I was sitting over 10' away, then the distance is too great for my eyes to notice the difference. There is a good little chart here to give you an idea of resolution when dealing with TV size and distance from screen. http://www.digitaltrends.co...
Wooo. So happy about the 3D. I bought a 3D TV a year ago and haven't played many 3D games on it. The hardware this gen was just too weak.
